Breaston back, but not Okeafor

Posted by Darren Urban on September 17, 2009 – 2:03 pm

Wide receiver Steve Breaston (knee) was back at practice on a limited basis today, which is a good sign as the Cards move toward the Jacksonville game. Of course, Breaston practiced all last week and didn’t play, so he’s probably a guy who will — no matter what — be someone that has to see game day how his injury responds. At least Early Doucet was back practicing full with his rib injury, so the Cards will have that piece. WR Anquan Boldin continues to be limited, but he’ll probably stay that way until he feels fully healed. He knows he’s not there yet.

More troubling is the fact LB Chike Okeafor sat again with a bad shoulder. Whisenhunt said he anticipated Okeafor doing some things tomorrow, so that could change the complexion, but if Okeafor can’t go tomorrow, it’ll be rough. Bertrand Berry is the starter if Okeafor can’t go.

Speaking of the Jacksonville game, Whisenhunt said the Cardinals have invested in a unit that allows players to attach small, extremely light pieces to their shoulder pads that — during a game — they can hook up to a machine so cool air will blow on the player’s body. The idea is to battle the humidity of Jacksonville. The Jaguars already have a system, and the Cards made sure they will have one too.

    Darren,

Do you know when the tech team over there are going to have the iTunes functionality back up with Cards Underground? I’m driving down to Tucson for the weekend and I’m going to need something to drown out my mother-in-law.

    Thanks,

    K9

We need that mischivous Chike but the B-Train ain’t a bad substitute. See Beannie Run. Run Beannie, Run. Right behind Kreider and Wright on 3rd down. I want a Beannie T-shirt!

I’m in the military up here in Alaska and listen to the show on my iPod during my commute to work. I really miss not being able to listen to the shows during my drives. The Cards were awesome against the Jags today!!!
