Warner up for award

Posted by Darren Urban on September 22, 2009 – 9:49 am

After his record-setting performance in Jacksonville, quarterback Kurt Warner has been nominated for the NFL’s FedEx Air player of the week. Warner is up against the Saints’ Drew Brees — who was 25-for-34 for 311 yards, three touchdowns and one interception — and the Texans’ Matt Schaub — who was 25-for-39 for 357 yards and four touchdowns. These awards (there is also the FedEx ground award) are chosen by the fans, and you can vote by going to this link.

This is a no brainer when Kurt set an all time record, but it seems the TV media is plugging Brees as its darling so we’ll see how that affects the vote. Kurt deserves this one.

Tim you’re right…the media is in love with Brees and Romo and all the new boys that crept into the league so…will see! Warner deserves it!

Give Schaub some love, he threw 4 TDs against a good Titans defense. Sorry Kurt I think you’ll have a hard time winning this week.

Just one more step closer to the Hall of Fame. Kurt has a superbowl ring, a superbowl mvp, 2 league mvps, bunch of other records. I guess they should throw the other guys a bone once and awhile. The only award Kurt is saving on his trophy shelf is one more Superbowl trophy…

really drew could get it almost every week. This week kurt set a record that has stood since 1977, this week its Kurts.

Ya, after watching NFL network and ESPN highlights they all didn’t make much of this record or the Cardinals team. That disappoints me. This is a big week against the Colts in prime time baby. Kurt is the man though. He deserves it this week.

I’ll vote for Kurt… wish he were 100% though!
Give Brees a break, he is consistent week after week… how about those 6 TDs in Week 1 then everyone (Fox and CBS) gave Romo the early game highlight with only 3. I believe that Romo is the media darling, not Brees… although I’m really not sure why.

Romo, is a joke, just cause his daddy owns the NFL stations, they only talk about him. Please, say the truth about his style of play, which is chicken.

i agree the world of football is in love with the jets, giants, patriots, cowboys, and drew brees and thats about it no love for the cardinals or its players very seldom. (according to the media)

Warner hands down! Warner racks up an NFL record, and continues to silence the Jimmy Johnsons and at the same time being a positive role model and gentelman.

Warner NFL’s FedEX Air player of the week!
