Ware, Doucet among inactives
Posted by on September 27, 2009 – 4:03 pmThe Cardinals have announced their inactives for tonight’s game, and there are no surprises. S Matt Ware is still out with the bad shoulder, and given the health of the rest of the receivers, WR Early Doucet won’t play. Also on the list: QB Brian St. Pierre, LB Reggie Walker, T Herman Johnson, G Brandon Keith, TE Dominique Byrd and DE Kenny Iwebema.

umm… when did St. Pierre get hurt?

He’s not hurt, although he has had back issues. Not all the inactives are hurt. In fact, this week they are all “healthy scratches” other than Ware and Iwebema, who has an ankle sprain.

riddledhero, inactive doesn’t necessarily mean that the player is hurt. Doucet is fully healthy now, but he’s not going to get hardly any (if any) playing time so he’s on the inactive list. St. Pierre isn’t going to play, so he’s on the inactive list and won’t take up a roster space from somebody who will play.

and St. Pierre is the “emergency QB,” who could play if both Leinart and Warner are hurt, correct?

Correct.
