Blackout deadline extended

Posted by Darren Urban on October 29, 2009 – 1:52 pm

The Cardinals, with about 1,000 tickets remaining, have received a extension to the blackout deadline for Sunday’s game. That means they have until 2:15 p.m. tomorrow to sell the game out and still have it televised locally.

That was the biggest news from practice. Tight end Stephen Spach (ankle) and defensive end Kenny Iwebema (knee) each returned to limited work in the only change to the injury report. Safety Antrel Rolle, dealing with a combination of a sprained arch and Plantar fasciitis, sat out for a second straight day. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie practiced full again.

Darren, do you think Antrel will play on Sunday? Also, was Anquan still limited in practice?

    Robert –

Don’t know on Antrel. Anquan was limited, but I expect him to play Sunday.

Panthers can be dangerous if underestimated. How is the team approaching the next game after the big victory last week? How does the coach keep them focused for the next game?

    Darren,

Is it probable that if the tickets are not sold, a local company will buy the remaining tickets so that the game is not a blackout?

Funny you should ask. Pete McElroy has a story on that subject that will be posted in a couple of hours on azcardinals.com.

I would never say probable. Possible maybe. I still anticipate a sellout. How the Cards get there is more of a mystery. Hopefully fans will scoop them up.

keep us posted Darren on the sellout. if the game isn’t on TV looks like i’ll have to have a garage sale to afford tickets and get my ass to the game! Keep up the great work Darren!

    Mark –

If you checked elsewhere on the blog, you’d see the fact the game was sold out — and therefore will be televised locally — was posted earlier this afternoon.
