Cards lose PS fullback to Bengals
Posted by Darren Urban on November 3, 2009 – 2:53 pmEarlier today the Cardinals made a practice squad move and now another is coming. They lost fullback Fui Vakapuna from the practice squad when the Bengals, who had drafted Vakapuna this year, came after him and signed him to their 53-man roster. The Cards are in the process of filling the vacant spot. Earlier today, the Cards put PS defensive end Keilen Dykes on injured reserve and added defensive lineman Antoine Holmes.

Polynesian people are incredibly strong and gifted athletes – their toughness and fearless play whether on the rugby pitch or football field is extraordinary. I think Fui was Samoan, but I’m not sure. The Cards had I believe one of the first Polynesian players : Vai Sikahema who was electrifying as a punt returner and made All-Pro. With BYU at our doorstep I’d like to see us draft or sign another Islander. How about our man who runs through walls – is he elligible for PS? or is he already signed soemwhere else?

Shannon –
They are about to sign someone else besides the wall-runner.

I don’t feel comfortable with a 32-year-old FB with hands of stone as our only FB option. Has there been any thought given to cross-training one of the FOUR tight ends on the roster at the FB position?

Nobody blocks the right guy as hard and quick as Kreider – he hits the hole and cleans out linebackers – Beannie can really run behind this guy.
