They are lucky to have signed Holmes, I’ve seen him play at NCSU and I know him personally — I mean it when I say that he is extremely underrated. His performance on the field is matched only by who he is as an individual — an incredible person with a great head on his shoulders and huge heart. Antoine Holmes will go on to do great things, I am absolutely certain of it!

They can lift, after they have recovered from whatever surgery they may have had. IR guys are often hanging around; I see FB Justin Green in the locker room all the time. And IR has nothing to do with status of the contract; if you go on IR, it’s specifically so a team can hang on to your rights.

I thought Dykes played well when he got the chance – I don’t remember when he was hurt before. Darren, what are the rules for players on IR – do they lift in the weight room – go to meetings? can they participate in practices at all? Can they come off IR without being cleared through waivers? Maybe a year with Lott will help if Keilen has access – who wouldn’t it help?

Dykes is developing a bad reputation for injuries, and has barely even been part of the 53. Not a good sign…
