I don't think they should start Leinart. Let's say the Cards lose to the Titans. We have the Vikings next and that's no guaranteed win for us. After that, we have the 49ers who will have their chance to tie things up in the NFC West if we lose the next 2 games. Give us the best chance to win by putting Kurt Warner in. Don't put us in a position to let the playoffs slip away from us. Start Kurt, beat the Titans, keep the Niners down, and give us a shot at homefield advantage in the playoffs. Go Kurt!!!!!

Dave --

Never even thought about that. First of all, you are assuming the Cardinals will be favored, which is no sure thing given the Titans' recent streak. And I think in context it was fairly clear I meant Warner is expected to play and it would be surprising ("an upset") if he did not.

i didnt like matts performance last week but we need to get him in these week practicing, we shouldnt even play warner vs. the titans because were 3 ahead, just give him a 2 weeks to make sure hes ok, and we'll have to see what leinart can do for this team as a starter.

good luck matt.

Hightower catches a lot of passes because we use a lot of 4 wide sets and check down to him often. Also, Anquan has been hurt for 2 or 3 games and missed 1. What I was saying was that Matt was ONLY checking down to the RBs, giving us little chance to go downfield and maintain continuity. I still Matt can be a good QB, you're just not going to get many situations that are better than the one he had yesterday.

I'm sure that you never noticed that one of the top-two pass catchers on the team right now is... Tim Hightower. Maybe by "checking down" to Hightower he was doing what he learned from watching Warner all season. He didn't need to try and win the game; the game was already over.

I'm still in your corner, Matt.

It should bear mentioning that the game-plan was also for a RIGHT HANDED quarterback. Watching Matt roll out to the right side of the line was just painful. It's almost impossible for a left-handed QB to set his feet right and make that throw on the right-handed roll out, just as it would be nearly impossible for Warner to roll out to the left side and throw accurately.
