Beisel, RFAs re-sign
Posted by on March 29, 2010 – 12:00 pmThe Cardinals brought back middle linebacker Monty Beisel on a one-year contract Monday, something necessary to uphold a semblance of depth at the position. Four guys also signed their tender offers: wide receiver Steve Breaston, center Lyle Sendlein, defensive tackle Gabe Watson (all restricted free agents) and cornerback Michael Adams (who was an exclusive free agent). The Cards now have just one unsigned restricted free agent — guard Deuce Lutui. Again, the Cards also lost a free agent Monday when wide receiver Sean Morey signed with the Seahawks, a move that wasn’t surprising.

Happy to see the signings. Hope we see Deuce, too. I think Matt Leinart would like it.
Darren – Have you heard any interest there in Francisco?

All good news. Now let’s just hope we do the right thing and draft the best PLAYER available, NOT FOR NEED. That is the only way a draft has ever been successful. Please do NOT reach for a middle linebacker or pass rusher just because we are thin, it just never works.

I would really like to see them get Deuce under a multi year contract. He really stepped it up a lot last year in the run game. I feel our Right side was very strong on the run. With Brown possibly moving over to the left I think that might change but I do feel Deuce is force in the middle.

I think the headline should read: Breaston, RFA’s re-sign. The depth at wr is all but gone. Breaston will be far more important to the team this year than beisel.

Noooooooooooooooo not adams!

Monty Beisel will give us good depth at ILB. Breaston and Sendlein will be key starters for us. Watson helps our depth at NT, because we don’t have much at NT and we don’t have bryan robinson signed either. Mike Adams gives us decent depth at CB, just as long as he’s our number 4 or 5 at best. Now, Deuce go on and sign it because he’s a good guard but he might be waiting for a team to jump in and snag him but we have hadnot who i like alot that we just signed from cleveland. So sign it big man.

Darren,
Think Whiz and Graves use a 2nd or 3rd choice for an OL?
By darrenurban on Mar 29, 2010 | Reply

Nothing on Francisco. I think they’d want to see what will happen with Ware first.

These days, it’s good to hear when anyone stays with this team! Just saw where Morey is now a Seahawk…sigh. Anyway, I am glad to hear that all of the above are going to be here, especially Breaston. I’d be happier to know that Lutui will be here as well. I’d like to see what has been a very solid O-line stay intact. Darren, any word on what seems most likely with Lutui? And what about Gandy? Does the signing of Bridges mean that he is definitely out? I’m cool with Bridges, but Gandy has been solid and steady for the past few years here…he’s not a Pro Bowler but he’d provide excellent depth if he stays. And if we can afford it. Forgive me for not paying attention, but is Gandy a FA?

What about jeremy Bridges I dont know if he is signed or if he is a free agent he did not play to bad for us. That would be a great sign if we kept him. Also is duece trying to get a bigger contract or what. The only thing I could think is that he is talking to another team.

Deuce is dreaming if he thinks he gets signed elsewhere. Maybe he’s just on “vacation”?
Hope Ware returns, Will miss robowarrior Sean Morey, what a geat team and specail teams player. Absolutely loved him!

Nice job FO!!! We are only small pieces away from a third consecutive DIVISION TITLE!!!! Who would have thought that four or five years ago???!!!!!!
By Patrick on Mar 29, 2010 | Reply
Well, it’s a great signing by the Cardinals I think Lyle Sendline will be a quality center for the Cardinals.
By tygr on Mar 29, 2010 | Reply
what about kurt warner tell him to climb out of the retirment shell and get his a$$ to work 40 is the new thirty he is good to go

Yeah, I wouldn’t be waiting around for that. There’s more chance of Donovan McNabb coming to the Cards ….
/undercuts own desire to quell McNabb talk
By AndyStandsUp on Mar 29, 2010 | Reply
..so the McNabb rumors are heating up again, heh?
So who would get the #5 jersey, Donovan or Ben Graham? Graham can “kick the can” a good chunk of the field, but McNabb’s good for “chunking up” soup on the field.

I like the loyalty shown by the Cards. >Looking at the time most of these guys have in the system the Cards must see something<. For reasons shown below we will be watching to see if these players step up!!! Sure there are some locks to make the team on this list but I look forward to the draft and tough competition to sort it out.
27 Adams, Michael–some say replaceable
79 Banks Jason– unproven
50 Beisel, Monty –vet that needs to play like one
73 Bridges, Jeremy–expected more b/c experience
86 Byrd, Dominique–will QB to TE be like USC days?
80 Doucet, Early –must stay healthy to have impact
73 Dykes, Keilen — unproven
95 Highsmith, Ali– solid when healthy
49 Johnson, Rashad–initially I expected more
91 Iwebema, Kenny–miracle/ ok when healthy
72 Keith, Brandon–upside gotta givem a chance
89 Patrick, Ben– shows flashes must stay healthy
97 Robinson, Bryan–is tank on E?? +/- resign
83 Spach, Stephen–ok but trouble staying healthy
2 St. Pierre, Brian–3rd Qb? +/- resign
55 Walker, Reggie–work out jersey # with JPorter
22 Ware, Matt- 7yrs = 1_int ? +/- resign
98 Watson, Gabe– is he still a backup NT?
yep post is on correct page now
