A big but unsurprising “sit” list
Posted by on September 2, 2010 – 6:44 pmThe Cardinals are holding out the five players that had been expected to be held out: WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee), WR Andre Roberts (shoulder), RB Jason Wright (toe), RB LaRod Stephens-Howling (concussion) and LB Gerald Hayes (PUP-back).
The Hyphen, by the way, not only got his concussion in the third preseason game, his previous NFL concussion as a rookie last year was also in the third preseason game. He is expected to be OK for the opener. “It’s your brain, and if its telling me not to go ahead or go on, I am definitely going to listen to my body,” Stephens-Howling said, adding that “we’ll get it right.”
The Redskins, on the other hand, are going to make sure everyone is right tonight. If there is a “name” on the Washington roster (that isn’t Albert Haynesworth), the guy is sitting tonight. McNabb, Grossman, Portis, Cooley, Moss, Orakpo, etc., etc. Thirty 29 players in all are scratches. (That’s a lot of work for the other 45 46 guys on the roster). It’s typical for coach Mike Shanahan, who used to do the same thing in all the preseason finales between the Cards and his Broncos.
Oh, and the Cards are wearing the black jerseys tonight, so they’ve got that going for them.

Trigidy –
That’s why you guys need to get on Twitter for instant updates (twitter.com/cardschatter). No official word on Beanie. I don’t think it’s serious.

Yeah, been noticing that not a lot of players are even paying attention to him. Kinda sad, really, but “You sleep in the bed that you make” or “You reap what you sow” I suppose. Oh, and Max Hall is gonna make some WAVES in a season or two! Agreed?

That is sad. A veteran player who says that he is the guy, standing on the outside of the team. He isn’t gone, but he is showing immaturity in his behavior. The only thing that he will get out of this, is a confirmation of the “whining and complaining” label that has followed him lately.

WoW,, matt gets 13 plays to fight for his life and 8 of witch were run’s for nutn! No blocking at all from our O line for Matt! haha Anderson once again cost us 6Pts on his Rocket to Spach, the man has no touch on his passes he is to high, to hard, not even close or right on. and the right on is 4th for a reason! haha

short time for da but he didn’t hurt himself. i’m ready to start the season with da…whiz believes in him, the offense believes in him so he is our man. i wish matty the best of luck and i still think he has the ability to be a successful (not great) qb in this league. i think we have the future in hall or skelton so da will be the guy who wins us our third staight nfc west title and hopefully superbowl. keep reloading with great drafts and free agent signings and we will continue to be winners.

The rest of the offense didn’t do much to help Leinart tonight.

I’d cut Gerald Hayes faster than Whiz can say “handle the team.”

I may be in the minority but Cardinals in black unis just doesn’t seem right. We look like imitation Raiders or Steelers. Red tops and white pants is in the best tradition of Charlie Trippi and Johnny Olszewski. They are also great to look at.
