Beanie: “I’m playing”

Posted by Darren Urban on November 5, 2010 – 12:35 pm

Running back Beanie Wells indeed did more work Friday and said after practice, “I’m playing” as he gets through the swelling on his right knee brought on by an injection of lubricant earlier this week. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said barring any further swelling tomorrow — which is not expected — Wells should be fine to play Sunday. At this point, the only player I don’t think will be available is linebacker Clark Haggans (groin).

– Sometimes, it’s good to keep things light. Darnell Dockett has a speaker in his locker that he can attach to his iPod or iPhone or whatever he has. Today, as guys ate some lunch after practice, suddenly Denny Green’s voice popped up. First Dockett played a music remix of Denny saying over and over, “They were who we thought they were!” Then Dockett managed to find the entire rant on-line, playing it for the room while he chuckled.

– Interesting that there are only seven players left on the roster from that ’06 team that endured Denny’s meltdown (and, in fact, the Cards’ last trip to Minnesota): Dockett, Deuce Lutui, Gerald Hayes, Adrian Wilson, Gabe Watson, Matt Ware and Larry Fitzgerald.

Darren, does this situation remind you of games one and two, or is he really gonna go this time?

Great that Beanie plans to play. HUGE opportunity here for the Cards. Hasselback out, Sea will have not only a backup QB but a makeshift OL against the Giants. Assuming SEA loses, Cards have opportunity to go into a tie for the division lead with by far the most favorable schedule going forward. Make it happen!

If you watch the video (I linked to in inside that note), you’ll see Reagan doesn’t get to be part of that play.

Hey Darren–Glad Beanie is ready to go!-HUGE game this week at Minny! Big difference between 3&5 and 4&4! The 2 things we must do is not turn the ball over heavy– and limit Adrian Peterson(no long runs). Easier said than done though! I think both teams will play desperate football as both teams need a win badly. I would love to see more screen plays from the Cards! Those screens get the QB a few throws under his belt which in turn generates confidence. Also I think we can run at Jarod Allen – given he is so aggressive in his pass rush. What do you think the chances we see all 4 QB’S play in this game– Anderson,Hall,Favre & Jackson?? Hope not at least for the Card’s sake! Enjoy the game! I’m going Cards-23-Vikes-17!

Never good when a player needs a lubricant to play.
If he can’t get up to screw the team he could have been drafted by(Minn) maybe Wells needs to think more about Early Doucett Syndrome.(Bad groin)

What difference does it make if Beanie starts or iff he plays? The Cardinals still think Kurt Warner is at quarterback. So they’ll pass, pass, pass. The Cardinals shouldn’t even have running backs. They won’t give them enough carries to make a difference or run them in plays that work for the back. I keep hearing how Ken Whisenhunt is from Pittsburgh and is “into smashmouth football.” I hope one day that shows up on the field. To date, it’s just words, like most of the Cardinals game plans. Hard team to root for…
