Workouts, for now
Posted by on April 29, 2011 – 10:51 amA handful of players came in, as promised, to work out this morning — among them, DRC, Levi Brown, Andre Roberts, Jeremy Bridges and Rex Hadnot. They were all thrilled to be around, although Brown joked that John Lott’s bear crawl work got him pretty good. “I wasn’t expecting that,” he said.
How long it lasts is unknown. A temporary stay sounds like it’s coming from the court system, which would put everything on hold for a while. (UPDATE: Reports were that a temporary stay was granted, although nothing official has been said yet). But the guys around looked pretty good. DRC said he put on about eight pounds of muscle and he looks it. Wide receivers Stephen Williams and Roberts also clearly look stronger than they did as rookies.
“It feels great,” DRC said. “Every time you see coach Lott, he puts a smile on your face. More importantly, it’s good to see my dogs again.”
Lott, who has wanted players around obviously, looked thrilled and the coaches that came down to say hello also were happy. General manager Rod Graves made sure to go around and shake the hand of every player who was there.
“It’s just good to be back,” Bridges said. “You really can’t control what is going on.”

Darren,
If the lockout was put back in place, are we still going to have time to get a playbook to Peterson or anyone else that we draft? Or is the stay effective immediately?

darren, any word on peterson press conference?

Darren,
I heard the new defensive scheme requires a good fast OLB to really be effective. Is that true, and do you think we’ll address OLB in the draft?

RE: Stay
I don’t know what the details are, nor what it means for Peterson. As of now, this was always the plan/rule for draft weekend, that a drafted player could come to a presser until the last pick was made.

love to see the guys back at the facilities working out… great pick up with Peterson… as for the OLB… do you feel the Cards will go with Brooks Reed, Bowers, or Ayers?

Vince Young will do wonders for the Cardinals! He wants to win & having a team with a Superbowl apperance will benefit him, plus the chance to run. Am I the only one that remebers the lost we had to the Titans in the last minute in 09or10 (can’t remember what year)

Brooks Reed!

Bear crawls! I feel your pain levi, although it’s not as bad as a spider crawls or low crawls. Glad to se the guys working out. Tear em up Lott.

Darren,
First off love the blog and check the site everyday for new posts!!
I missed the first round of yesterday nfl draft and have been trying to look online for a full replay video but no luck. Any ideas of a site or link where I would be able to watch?
Any suggestions from other fans will be helpful also?

Say it isnt so. Whiz was talking up Greg Toler, don’t tell me we are trading DRC for Kolb. The idea of the Cards being the NFC version of the Jets is awesome, dont blow it for a second string quarterback. Tell me my intuition is wrong!

RE: Replay
Not sure you can find a full replay, but I am sure NFL.com has a lot of the player picks individually.

cards just drafted a rb. i know that it isnt our strong suit but it isnt as glaring a need as well, dont you think we should have gotten another defensive player?
