Beanie active, Heap sits

Posted by Darren Urban on October 9, 2011 – 8:45 am

A hamstring will not keep RB Beanie Wells out today, but the same injury will sideline tight end Todd Heap. Wells is active today and will play against the Vikings. Heap is out, no shock after he missed the final two practices of the week. Also out is punter Dave Zastudil (knee), meaning Ben Graham will have a return engagement punting for the Cards.

The other inactives:

  • WR Chansi Stuckey (hamstring)
  • WR Stephen Williams
  • QB John Skelton
  • TE Jim Dray (pectoral)
  • DE Ronald Talley

For the Vikings, not only is top CB Antoine Winfield out with a neck problem, but wide receiver Bernard Berrian is also a surprise inactive, apparently as a punishment for getting in a Twitter battle with a fan earlier this week. That should make for an interesting storyline for Minnesota.

Graves, Keim, Whiz, the other coaches and the players are at fault: Graves and Keim for assembling rosters that can’t compete with not only good teams, but weaker teams; Whiz and the coaches for preparing and implementing ineffective game plans; and the players for not performing.

I don’t want to read posters’ writing that the team is “talented”.

They are losing 31-10 to a team that was 0-4.

nodavis2000, where are the great FAs and players that you bragged about?

Been a Cards fan since they moved to AZ and I’ve got to admit they suck now more than ever. Why have high priced players when you could get all the scrubs of the league and end up with the same result? Get rid of Wisenhunt now! He got lucky when he took them to the superbowl cause there was already a good team in place that even I could have taken to the superbowl.

To quote Vince Lombardi- “What the hell is going on out there”. ??? Hey whiz do you even know who he is????

This team is actually worst than last years.
This isn’t a joke anymore it is a total DISASTER!!!!!

The Cards could have had Wade Philips as a DC nooo they have to have some unknown.
FA WR’s the Cards could have had some quality 2nd WR’s nooo they don’t even get one.
Defensive FA Bradley another bust where is he???
Miller as a OC another bust!!!!

Hey Mr Bidwill- Fire Graves and get rid of this coaching staff- it is the worst in the NFL.

Yes I have fallin’ off of the whiz bandwagon…..
It is only going to get worse as the schedule gets harder.

And the band played on as the Cards season slowly sinks below the waves….

Let’s go Jets, Let’s go Jets, Let’s go Jets!!!!!!!!

I’m done watching this 3 ring circus for the rest of this year….

Whishenhint is a complete fraud, he has no motivational ability or clue of what the hell is going on. FIRE HIM AND GET A REAL COACH DURING THE BYE WEEK-HE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kolb is a bust and we will get Luck when we go 1-16 this year. Andy Reid is the best coach as he dumped the 2 worst QB’s in the NFL. Skelton should be the starter—Kolb sucks.

I have an idea for next year’s draft:

    First pick: Running Back
    Second pick: Tight End
    Third pick: Punter
    Fourth pick: Running Back
    Fifth pick: Long Snapper
    Sixth pick: Tight End

Oh well, you get the idea. Another draft wasted by picking the “BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE”.

Once again we travel and are not ready to play and Minnesota goes up 28 – 0 in 1 quarter. No problem as Minnesota always have big leads at the half and we have 3 quarters to come back and their # 1 CB WInfield is out so we should get the win.

Unfortunately we can not get it going at all and are now 1 – 4. Seattle travels to NY for an early game and they go to play and their defense makes plays at the end of the game to make sure they win the game.

Cardinal fans in your opinions both positive and negative how do you think Kolb, Beanie, Fitz, Doucet, Housler and our OL play? Would you have put Bartel in the game sooner?

    Go Cards

    So Darren…….

U still think T.O. and Randy Moss would be so horrible in the locker room and a virus for this team, think again…. This team is a virus, horrible play calling and u can’t tell me the Un-Whiz isn’t calling the plays or he wouldnt have that dam play call card in his hand, what a load of bull…. This team is disgusting, from play calling to lack of def to the skiddish QB to not having a true #2 WR…… It is so easy to put a team together, spend some money on proven winners, not hopes n prayers like this Kolb guy. Bring in leonard davis, benny sapp, T.O. n Moss. Get rid of Joey porter, michael undersized adams, levi lazy butt brown, n andre i cant run a route roberts. Bring in some real players….. N by the way Skelton is the future and the whisenhunt is a joke, nothing like riding Kurt warners coat tails to a superbowl…. Michael Bidwell should go stick his head in the sand if its not already buried three feet deep. Nuff said, all excuses n no action….. Wish i had a job where i could show up n do everything wrong yet still make millions, n then say, “Well i just need to clean up lil mistakes and be better next week….. Yeah right, welcome to reality cardinals, and VP and front office and coaches and while we’re at it half rate players n old steelers players who had no business ever being on this team…. Its time for an overhaul!!!!!!

  26. By brythybo7 on Oct 9, 2011 | Reply

I cant watch this team amymore. The defense looked slow and tired. Are the Vikings really that much faster than them? The offense looked just as bad. Scrap the whole O-line and get some new players. Something big needs to change or they’re gonna be worse than 5-11.

Oh my I was too optimistic. Whiz will really be on the hot seat now. Look for some black out games at U of Phx stadium.

A new phrase: IN WHIZ WE (DO NOT) TRUST.THIS IS NOT THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE ITS THE WORST COACHING STAFF.When are they going to realize this is not the pee-wee league and personally i think the players are not playing hard for this staff believe me a couple more losses and the internal talk will come out . i hate to say this but whiz must go why?ever since warner /haley left what have he done? I REALLY THINK THE PLAYERS ARE NOT BUYING INTO THIS PITTSBURGH OF THE WEST.Example the 49ers this is the same team basically all they did was change the coaching staff with alex smith now they are 4-1 the cards season is already OVER.

Ken W. is incapable of believing in the talent on the team and showing confidence in QB’s(other than Kurt Warner or old Steeler players). John Skelton or Bartel could’ve won at least one game for us thus far. What a waste of 60 million dollars.

I must admit i gave whiz alot of credit for the sb run but now i realize it was done with D. GREEN PLAYERS AND WITH WARNER/HALEY NOT USING THAT PITTSBURGH OFF. IN WHIZ (WE DO NOT) TRUST.

Like I said before, Kurt Warner made Wiz & Grimm look better than they are as coaches. The O line has been a struggle every year and the defense is vulderable to the run and pass. Time for the Wiz/Grimm team to come under the gun.

  35. By Scott H on Oct 9, 2011 | Reply

Time to tell it like it is – Whiz is now 6-16 since Kurt Warner left town. Period. These numbers don’t lie, they tell you the absolute truth that Kurt Warner was THE guy who was making this machine hum from 2007-2009. He’s gone and so is everything HE was doing to make it go. Since then, this coach has been totally and completely exposed. ANYONE who wants to cling to that pathetic “In Whiz we trust” mantra at this point should be ashamed of themselves. And if ya do, then have yourself a ball. I would have NO PROBLEM with him being fired tonight. How can anyone possibly defend him at this point??? We played a team today who was 0-4 and was finding ways to lose every week. And as usual, we laid down and let them walk all over us. 28-0 in the blink of an eye. THAT is on the coach, and coaches who are performing at such a pathetic level need to go. And I say good riddance. Go back to Pittsburgh.

I’ve been harboring this thought for a while ( I know some others have, too ) and now I’m hoping for it – Jeff Fisher should be the new head coach of this team come opening day next year. This season is already in the toilet ( gee, that didn’t take long, did it??? ) and we are unfortuantely already looking at next year for our next hope to HAVE hope. Fire Whiz today, tonight, tomorrow, what ever. Frankly, I think he should have been fired at half-time. Or, let him drag his sorry rear end through the rest of the season. It doesn’t matter so I don’t really care. But get Fisher in here after the season and let’s give ourselves a chance to move forward.

This is a disgrace. This is pathetic. And this needs to be the end of the Ken Whisenhunt era. All those who NO LONGER trust in Whiz, say aye!

So Whiz started the post game presser by blaming Fitz. I know mid season coaching changes rarely ever happen, but in my mind that was the last straw.

Hey Whiz, watch a real head coach’s presser. Coughlin takes responsibility for todays NYG loss against Seattle. Link is on the NYG’s offical web site. Pathetic.

    Same old Cardinals

  41. By Evan on Oct 9, 2011 | Reply

Offensive play calling is predictable. Defense isn’t pressuring the opposing quarterback. Can’t convert on third downs. Giving up too many big plays and commiting too many penalties. Fitzgerald needs another deep threat on the other side of the field so he isn’t double and triple teamed. In short, sounds a lot like the “old” Cardinals, huh? Like the old saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig… and being the worst team in the worst division (again) is unacceptable.

Never too early to start talking about next year-
Let’s face it, we will be lucky to win 6 games this year with our schedule remaining-which means a top 10 draft pick-
    1) Extend Campbell before year end
    2) Not really a stud pass rusher worth top 10 pick
so–hope Lions don’t extend or franchise Cliff Avril-give him
a lot of $-he would be a great addition. (only 25)
    3) Sign Robert Meacham as your speedy 2nd WR
    4) Draft best Left tackle in draft- (kid from USC or Stanford or Iowa)
    Round 3-best Safety
    Round 4- best ILB
Keep Coach Whiz for next year-many people will want to clean house after another non winning season-give him one more year with a offseason with Kolb

How many games into the season should a coach be allowed to fail at executing a single screen pass? Just curious, what would be the industry standard for this basic play be given that any division 3 college can run it?

Just learned that Atlanta picked up 93 (DE pass rusher who just sacked Rodgers) off a Skype interview. For what I’ve paid for my season tickets I’d be more than happy to come in and give Graves and Whiz an I-phone with a skype app and teach them how to use it. Send me an email if I can be of assistance

Our problem is that the Cardinals never want to pay big bucks for players other than Fitz and when we do get good players (Anquan Boldin, Karlos Dansby, Antrel Rolle) they don’t wanna pay them the money for them to stay!!! I’m sure that all the players that we ended up not paying would have loved to stay on a team that just went to the Super Bowl, but guess what! Stingy @$$ Cardinals don’t wanna pay anyone! Look at teams like the Steelers. They pay multiple players the big bucks to stay. I don’t care if we don’t have any cap room, I just want a ring!
