Training camp to start July 24
Posted by on May 17, 2012 – 4:14 pmThe full camp schedule is still to come, but the Cardinals will report to Flagstaff for training camp July 24 — a Tuesday — and the first practice will be the following afternoon on the 25th. Sorry, but no further details at this point while the schedule is being worked out.
The Cards have their first preseason game Aug. 5 in Canton, Ohio, against the Saints for the Hall of Fame game. The Cardinals could have gone to camp 15 days prior to that — three days before they will end up going — but coach Ken Whisenhunt had said the Cards wouldn’t go that early. I’m not sure yet if there is going to be a Red and White practice, but as soon as I know more camp info, you will too.

Do the players do signings? If so, before or after practice?

When will the single game tickets go on sale? Looking forward to this season can’t get season tickets due to work schedule.

Usually, that happens in late July.

Darren: When 7th round draft picks such as Nate Potter sign 4-year deals with the Cards does that make it less likely for the player to be outright released (no practice squad invitation) because of the length of the contract?

I know I’m going to get blasted for this, but Darren do you think any part of Whiz’ decision to not start the full 15 days before the HOF game was based on his inclusion to play in the Lake Tahoe-Reno celebrity golf tournament the weekend before?
We all know Ken likes his golf with an unusual passion.

RE: being released
No. The extra year doesn’t really impact it in that regard.

RE: Camp start
Honestly, I don’t know, but he said from the start he wouldn’t start that early. I’d think it’d be more likely it as a nod to his players, who already aren’t happy about going earlier. Truthfully, after an offseason and minicamp plus extra camp, I don’t think it helps much to add three or four more days.

What is Coach’s opinion on the Qb battle?

RE: Camp volunteer
I’d suggest contacting Northern Arizona University. They are the ones who organize that staff.

RE: Whiz on QBs
His opinion is that he’d rather not have one. If you are asking how he will approach it, it will be Kolb vs Skelton and how they perform in camp.

Anyone know when a ‘schedule’ will be out for camp? we are booked that 1st weekend (26-29) but want to make sure there are plenty of public practices (1st time at camp).
