As expected, Holliday comes back
Posted by on June 11, 2012 – 1:26 pmAs became clear last week after the Cards re-signed veteran linebacker Clark Haggans, the Cards brought back another vet today when veteran defensive end Vonnie Holliday returned on a one-year contract. As I’ve mentioned before, Holliday not only provides depth but is great in the locker room and teaching young players and that part of it can’t be overstated.
To make room for Holliday, the Cards cut undrafted rookie defensive end Conrad Obi. The Cards will take their full 90-man roster into minicamp tomorrow, with two practices.

Darren,
I read on nfl.com that floyd got a 4 year deal with a 5th option, what does that 5th year option mean?

RE: Floyd deal
It probably means the fifth year is an option for the team.

A big guy like Vonnie can only clean hot tubs and fold towells for so long then it’s gotta be time to get out of town and get back to football. He can only fix so many things around the spa before, “Hey Honey, I’ve got to go crack some heads, smash some people….” Welcome back Mr. Holliday, you deserved the rest. No go catch a QB!

I”m soooo stoked at the promise this team is showing. I especially am thankful to have these veterans on board to show our young talent the ropes and keep them focused on the game. GREAT JOB CARDS! WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN:)

Good resigning of Holliday. He provides very good depth and leadership like Darren said and God forbid but if Dockett or Campbell goes down for a minute, he can come in and play well for us.
