Heap, Toler remain out, Nelson playing for Packers

Posted by Darren Urban on November 4, 2012 – 9:36 am

The Cardinals’ inactive list is out for today’s game, with tight end Todd Heap still out with his bad knee. On the flip side, Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who didn’t practice all week because of a bad hamstring, is active today and listed as a starter. The Cardinals are also still without cornerback Greg Toler (hamstring).

Guard Adam Snyder (quad) remains out, no surprise, so Rich Ohrnberger will start at right guard. The rest of the Cardinals’ inactives:

– QB Kevin Kolb (ribs)

– LB Jamaal Westerman

– G Senio Kelemete

– WR LaRon Byrd

Time for Skelton to come out of whatever funk he’s been in.
    Looking for a big day.

Coach Whis, please cut Doucet. He cannot do his only job which is to catch the ball.

Can we all just be honest and stop drinking the poluted cool-aid that Graves and Whiz have been serving for the lest several years???

This team isnt very good, the coaching hasn’t been very good, and yet we still go to the games. I think the same old Cardinals have come back to town. After following this team for about 27 years I am done and can no longer support them.

I know I am entitled to my opinion, but is there anything to be positive about at this time and does anyone see this turning for the positive any time soon???

just like I said, this game will be no different, and look whats happening, why is todd heap on this team?

Time to find out what Lindley can do? Baptism by fire! Skelton has had drops from receivers, yet also, misses most of his passes and hasn’t tried to run at all. You have to wonder if his ankle is still not right. We need some mobility at this point before he is hurt again!

For the love of god! WHY in the middle!?!?!? 3and1 in almost the goal line and the Hyphen in the middle….stopped. What a schock. All the time. Can’t believe it!

    Darren,
Looks like the offense looked better than the defense today. What a joke the Cards’ defense has been. All of Green Bays’ scores were legitimate long, long drives.
Pack scored 31 points by the 3rd quarter. If the Pack had a sense of urgency, they could have scored 50.

    Another pathetic loss…..

Patrick Peterson continues to struggle, looking worse and worse as a corner each week. Oh and also as a punt returner, muffed punt.
Drops kill us, and our run game isnt the best either.

Growing more and more tired of watching this team play..

WHAT THE F…K WAS THAT??? Whiz…it’s time to say game over… dropped passes, missed plays and very very bad calls(3dr&goal , and 2 3rd-down-call in 4th q…)….man…let’s say goodbye… we punted 10 and 7 mins left and we only started our do or die drive only 4mins left…man…. we didnt have any chance to equalize…we had the moment, which was flought away when we just made the field goal(and we got that f…in td..) skelton showed something, fitz, roberts, floyd , peterson, gay too…but..it’s not well-deserved. rodgers under 50% and only 218..man its very very good, but 4tds? lenon,fleming..omg. and against rush omg…doucet OMG. and offense calls very very omg. I hope they will increase, anyway it was better than against 49ers. FLY CARDS FLY!

  17. By suspence716 on Nov 4, 2012 | Reply

Please whiz, just fire yourself…. I know you refuse to play rookies until the barn is completely burnt to the ground but look how much better floyd is than doucet and look how much better potter was than batiste. You can’t call plays, evaluate talent, and refuse to get rid of assistants not doing a good job cause they are your friends…. Its gotten ridiculous!!! Bring in Denny Green as your GM cause he knew how to draft and put a team together and he didn’t forget about addressing the offensive line… Get rid of graves!!!!!!!

I know, the spin of the “good” things will be coming out……like over 300 passing for Skelton, actually got double digits in the run game (whopping 53 yrd) and a TD. In 3rd quarter got to within 7, Floyd does well, Fitz gets a TD, etc…. I guess those are things to hang your hat on.
But the other things are just down right depressing. Most points allowed from a team with a lot of injuries, only 18 rush attempts (I know for Cards that’s like double the norm, but still), only one rush attempt given to powell, Rodgers, who is awesome, but 4 TD (3 in first half).game planning that seems lack luster/no imagination.
The bye couldn’t come fast enough. That will give them a week to not train not think, and then come back and get ready to do the same thing all over again (after all its the same guys, the same coaches, and nothing really is changing up at all from what I can see game over game) against the Falcons.
And my thought here, even if Kolb is ready to come back, and even though he did well first part of season, he can’t help with this poor offense they have. Might make the team a bit more competitive, but sorry, we’ll still be losing.

Stick a fork in the birds they are done for the season no PLAYOFFS too many good teams in the nfc plus you lose the tiebreaker with packers & vikes so take off your jersey sell your tickets they are DONE.I feel your pain acrouse 32 been a fan fro30years and im done until they get rid of these sorry coaches. One more thing i think they will always be the same ole cards until the bidwills sell this team don’t get me wrong they are good people but as long they sell out the stadium and MAKE A PROFIT make you wonder if they care about the winning.

All I can say is that I’m so tired of seeing my team lose. We’ll be lucky to win 6 games this year with the way the rest of the schedule is. Some changes have to be made. I’ve stuck by this team for 35 + yrs., but we’re going in the wrong direction. I thought after last year’s finish and this year’s start, things were looking up, but boy was I wrong. I thought our defesne was our strength, but they’re not even playing up to par, which means we’re in for a very long year, and once again nowhere near the playoffs. So disappointing. What do we have to do to turn this thing around? And I don’t wanna hear about all the injuries. Deal with it, every team has injuries. Good teams find ways to overcome injuries and adversity. If, I mean when we don’t make the playoffs this year, something drastic has to change. This is getting really old.

Cobra you must be crazy Skelton had a good game, he would have had over 400 yards passing if not for all those drops. And I think we found our left tackle in Potter, he had a great game.

  26. By cardsalltheway on Nov 4, 2012 | Reply

LSH is not a full-time RB, he’s best as a part-time 3rd down back or simply mix-up him and William Powell. W. Powell has shown the most promise, he’s a 2nd year RB. Other RB’s(rookies) are are tearing it up on other teams but our best sit on the bench( 1 carry in the last 2 games). For some reason Ken W. is blind to skillful RB’s or chooses not to play the most promising and deserving, injured and less promising is what he likes. Heaven forbid William Powell looks too good that would cause a RB controversy(Beanie Wells is in waiting). Clueless in Arizona!

    Darren,
In the Giants vs Steelers game today, there was a play where Big Ben threw a crossing route to Mike Wallace- it should have been for 5 yards but it was good for a 51 yard TD. Except for Larry once in a while, there are no explosive players on this offense from the QB to the RBs ,TEs and the WRs. Explosive players make everyone on the offense look good.
Although it flies against the opinion on this site, Russ Grimm is the best coach on this team.
Ray Horton has to be the worst coach- thinking he can play a 3-4 defense with a below average NT and LB’s of which none is considered any more than average especially against the run. And the DBs are either past their prime or overrated.
At one time, I thought Michael Bidwill was going to be the main impetus in making the Cardinals a top rated team- but it looks like Michael is part of the problem and not a difference maker.
I want so much for the Cardinals to be an NFL power and I find very little solace in the fact that my negative posts have proven to be so accurate over the years.

    Georgiebird

We HAVE been throwing 5 yard crossing routes and they CAN go for huge yards. Problem is Skelton is so inaccurate with simple 5 yard passes our players either have to completely stop to get the ball, reach behind them, or jump 4 feet in the air to catch it. The problem isn’t our receivers, it’s Skelton and his inability to hit them in stride. Sad thing is, he actually hit 2 receivers in stride 3 different times in Green Bay. Early twice (and he dropped em) and Housler once (dropped). Those 3 balls were his best throws all game (and the 40 yarder to Roberts).

Re: Cobra you must be crazy Skelton had a good game:

Really, maybe for Skelton. Potter did make a difference, but the fact remains, the quy can’t hit the broad side of a barn half the time. Packers took guys out of the box way before Skelton was somewhat efficient while playing prevent defense.

You my friend are dillusional and apparently cannot read between the lines. I have been patient with Skelton. Lindley is not the answer now either, yet, it’s about time to find out what he has.

  34. By BIG RED on Nov 5, 2012 | Reply

It’s a team sport, now its cause of Potter make some good blocks,. wow. Just admitted you really believe in kolb. Well, you know we have something in common, I also believe kolb can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Except why spend so much money on someone that really doesn’t deserve it and won’t ever finish a season.
