Dan Williams sits out, Hoyer inactive

Posted by Darren Urban on December 16, 2012 – 12:43 pm

The Cardinals will still be without nose tackle Dan Williams today against the Lions. David Carter should will get the start in his place. It hurts the run defense, which has struggled anyway, but the Lions do not have a great running game anyway. Tight end Rob Housler is active, so that helps — he is a favorite target of rookie starting QB Ryan Lindley. Speaking of quarterbacks, newcomer Brian Hoyer is, as expected, inactive. John Skelton will back up Lindley.

The other inactives:

– S James Sanders (calf)

– WR Early Doucet (concussion)

– TE Kory Sperry

– DE Ronald Talley (ankle)

– G Senio Kelemete

Serious question, Darren. (Cuz you know, all I do is joke.)
Why, if Snyder is playing C and McQuistan (who has already been cut at least once) is Kelemete inactive again?
The need seems to be there. Is he not adjusting to the change from tackle, attitude not correct……?

Even if Hoyer isn’t ready he can’t be any worse than Skelton or Lindley… Have him active anyway.

    RE: Kelemete

That one I do not know. Unless they are leery of starting yet another rookie. No chance to ask yet.

I want to see Kelemete play. This season is a loss, so they might as well let him get some experience…

Real nice…NOW, at a point in a lost season when winning probably hurts more than it helps, they decide to try to win one??? Really? Where was this urgency back in, like, October when it might have mattered?

C’mon, Lions! You’ve been a much better 2nd half team all season…let’s get it going!

Congratulations Cardinals and Ken W. First win in 10 weeks baby! Now maybe we can trade up in the 1st round with the Lions(give them a draft pick) in the draft to get another QB. Gotta do something about them QB shakes, just hold on till draft week and you’ll be okay.

    Go Cards!

Great win, all bad comments, well, you may get a response from me. You know who you are. To true fans, hell yes, we got a win. Well deserved, on O and D, mostly. Either way, we take it!!!!!!!

nice effort-good results.looking forward,be nice to get 2 olinemen(bama),l.jones qb @ ok.,take a good look at clemson qb,260 lb.ilb that can stuff the run,the 6’8″ de/olb from smu i think, the one who swats passes and blocks kicks(remind you of anyone),look at honey badger, duke qb,and maybe a kicker, enough variety to really test the qbs, depth on o line, shore up the middle, add a pass rusher, and dbs are always worth looking at,esp.if they were a teammate of peterson, and not to forget the poor mans edge, the rb from wisconsin i think.fill most those and fans will probably be happier next season.

Scott H: I hear the weather is great in Detroit. Try it out, and don’t forget to take that draft choice with you.

Cardsalltheway: Scott H needs a roommate in Detroit. You guys can work on the draft choices the Cards will not send to the Lions. Since Detroit has a great QB then you should be wondering what to do with their O and D, not ours.

Red Cards: You missed the game last week?

    Hey, Cobra –

Have ya noticed that many teams WITH those high draft picks have started to move up the ladder because of them? THAT is my point, genius, and it really ain’t that hard to figure out. If you’d rather win a meaningless game now – after losing 9 in a row – instead of being better positioned to make a dent in our future, then be my guest.

Don’t like my posts? Don’t read them.
