Patrick Peterson is easily the best defensive player on the team. He is an extraordinary talent with all the tools to be a HOF player. PP's only problem is his mental approach to the game as evidence by his play against Danny Amendola.
Daryl Washington is limited as an ILB by his physical size. On a recent 1st quarter blitz against the Seahawks, DW was knocked backward 5 feet by the RB-and the RB was standing still while DW was charging. DW would be better as an OLB in a 4-3 defense.
To have DW's mental approach with PP's physical skill set = instant All Pro.

Reading the PFF response, I have to argue one point.

He talks about the amount of passes defended and picks. In reality, as a CB becomes better and gets his name known, QBs throw less to his side, limiting his chances to pick or defend (see Revis).

Not taking away anything from Haywood, because teams will try to find mismatches against nickles and go after them. The fact he is withstanding that, is worthy of recognition.

But as Peterson keeps getting picks and QBs understand an easier path to a completion is on the other side of the field, Peterson's numbers will decline. If he becomes to the status many think he will, no one will throw that way. I remember Sanders being bored out there and trying to bait QBs by letting receivers be open and break on the ball. QBs quickly learned his tricks and stayed away.

That is one reason I loved Peterson as a safety (ala Ed Reed). If you had two physical CBs taking away short passes, QBs would have to go down the field. Peterson would have more chances playing sideline to sideline and couldn't be taken away.

Of course you could argue he is taking away the other teams best WR at CB.

Every year I hear the same whinning about probowl selections and how certain players deserve to be included on the probowl team. Their are alot of great players in the nfl that are overlooked each year, I personally can't see too many cardinals being selected defensively given how poorly the team has played against teams with winning records.

LINDLEY NOT FEELING PRESSURE FROM HOYER
''Rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley isn’t feeling newly acquired quarterback Brian Hoyer breathing down his neck. Hoyer was signed last week after the Cardinals placed Kevin Kolb on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Carrying three quarterbacks is common for teams around the NFL. Hoyer was inactive Sunday against the Lions. While the calls for Hoyer to play would have been much louder this week had the Cardinals lost, Lindley doesn’t feel threatened by the addition of another signal caller.
“It’s on me to go out there and perform,” Lindley said. “I’m not going to perform any better if they bring in more quarterbacks. You have to go out there and play your game and let the chips fall where they will.”

Lindley is not the answer and Hoyer got waived by Pittsburg and they basically gave him to Arizona for a future favor so baited breath. The fact we are seeing Lindley again is comical, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over that is the high expectation placed by Whiz. Take his training wheels off and let's see if he can actually play, last game was a total defensive effort and provided him with a coasting win that he did absolutely nothing to merit. Seriously 3rd down conversions were not high and passing yardage was low 100, we ran the ball. Chicago is going to eat this guy on Sunday so we will see what he has under real pressure. Detroit handed that game to the Cards.

Darren,

Totally agree with Cobra. If there was a pro bowl for blog/commentary moderators, you'd be deserving of a pro-bowl. So, who's your Super Bowl pick?

Mine is -

Atlanta vs. Houston

(Although, Tom Brady keeps making me doubt Houston's ability to make past the Patriots.)
