I'm sorry, but Sarah is a joke. Pure speculation, wishful thinking really, re: her favorite player. It's really sad how she's diluted herself into fabricating stories about interest in Skelton. Will Skelton be in someone's camp next year? Sure. Will he make the final roster? No. Are the Maras invested in Skelton's success at the pro level? NO. Are the Texans willing to suffer tampering sanctions to float an offer to Skelton, still under contract, when they have a solid starter and one of the league's best backups already on their roster? You can answer that one yourself. Skelton will be entering his fourth NFL season. He's no longer seen as a young developmental QB, but now as a veteran. And with his skill set, he'll wash out of the league sooner than later.

I’ve been contemplating in which direction the organization should go if they do indeed decide to relieve Whisenhunt of his duties and bring in a new coach. In my opinion our choices would be limited; this is not Dallas or New York. It is Arizona and under the ownership of the Bidwills this organization has floundered consistently since the days of leather helmets. High profile guys like Sean Payton are not going to take the job. Guys with nice, cushy media paychecks like John Gruden, Bill Cowher, Jimmy Johnson, Tony Dungy, etc. certainly don’t need a gig like this one….Andy Reid will certainly get a better offer that is more conducive to winning. The organization has no leadership, no foundation from which to build and sustain success. I don’t want to beat a dead horse but when a guy that is supposed to be a leader flat out refuses to carry out an on field directive from the head coach and physically confronts teammates on the field about that directive and is allowed to play the very next week it sends a very clear message that the front office and management does not support their head coach in any way. Does that strike you as the sort of situation that a head coaching candidate would want to get into if they had other options? Not likely, winning organizations are not run like that and directives from the coach no matter if a player agrees with the strategy or not are to be carried out. Players simply can’t be allowed to decide for themselves what they do and do not want to do. This team is a mess, it is a circus and it all starts at the very top. We’ll need to offer the job to a very low profile guy without other coaching options and hope he is confident enough or naïve enough to believe he can enact meaningful change…..colossal change in the way the organization conducts its business from the top all the way down to the field. Major challenge finding the right guy for this job, major challenge.

Sarah, I appreciate the response. I agree. I wish Skelton would have been developed before starting him. I believe that is what he was drafted for originally, to mentor behind a proven, experienced quarterback, but the QB situation thrust him in the starting role too soon. I was instantly impressed with him his first preseason game as a Cardinal. I'm glad to hear that other teams are interested and will follow his career.

It might sound crazy, but I think AZ should make a move for Alex Smith. We'll release every quarterback except Hoyer. Make Smith starter, Hoyer as a backup and the draft should go like this:
RD 1. Te'o/ Joeckel OR trade back and get Barret Jones/ Chance Warmack
RD. 2 Eddy Lacy or Giovanni Bernard
RD. 3 QUARTERBACK to develop under Smith. I like Tyler Bray, EJ Manuel or Aaron Murray
After RD 3, draft best player available. I would like CB, SS, TE, and depth for the O-Line.
Release or Trade Beanie Wells, he is unreliable. Give Ryan Williams one more year.

Sorry, but can you remind me of the name of the pro-bowl QB and O-lineman who were injured this year? Silly me, I must have forgotten their names! Been such a long season...

Rick,

His uncle is part owner of the Houston Texans and apparently there is an offer already on the table for camp should he be waived. The Giants also will probably go for him I hear, apparently as the owners are huge Fordham alum/donors (the Mara family) and want to see him succeed, the Jets are also interested. He will land on his feet despite Whiz's meanness. Skelton blew his Seattle chance but it was a huge uphill battle in their stadium and Whiz knew it. Whiz should have kept him in against Atlanta.

Skelton's big problem was he got in too fast without a mentor and started competing with Kolb who was a bust last year. If Kolb had worked out this year it would have given Skelton another year to grow as a QB. Neither Lindley or Skelton had the ''guy'' to be behind. Skelton was brought in to be the 3rd QB post draft and developed slowly. Look he played on par with Aron Rogers in the Green Bay game, beat SF last year and went 6-2 closing games out with a W in 2011-12. He never got a soft home game return from the Seattle injury, rather was thrown in the fire. Had Feely made the Buffalo kick well maybe things would have worked. Minn, SF and GB were no easy gig and if the D had not let GB's Crabtree run for 87 yards who knows. I think the Seattle seems to be everybody's disaster right now at their home field.

Darren,

As per Hoyer, let's not be writing checks just yet as he played against a prevent D last game with a pick and several sacks. Let's see how SF goes would be a rational man's thought., desperation we have visited Post season there are lots of Brian Hoyers around. Pittsburg did not see anything in him which should be an indicator but I remain open minded, one 20 minutes of play with no TD is not a career nor contract potential. SF will be all over this guy and our predictable short passing offence, they are mad post Seattle and we are drifting in.

BIG RED: If you want to see Skelton after this year, I suggest you hit The Home Depot. Try power tools. Or maybe lumber. Oh sure, someone will sign Skelton to be the fourth quarterback in training camp, but that will be it. Keep your eyes peeled at The Home Depot come August or so.
