And Darren,
Do you think DeMarco Sampson will return to the Cardinals?

Darren,
Pope Urban II was famous for spearheading the Christian Crusades to the Holy Land during the Middle Ages.
Your own crusade in 2012 from the draft to the last game of the regular season is no less a feat.
Even though the Cardinals' season has been one to forget, you have had your best year. Our posts have been fairly aired and you have maintained your dignity throughout the year in the face of our redundancies, inconsistencies and misspellings.
A job well done- Happy New Year!

happy new year dynasoar. i like charlie batch and he has been paid pretty good money the last six or seven years to be ready to fill in when the steelers' first or first two quarterbacks were injured. and on the few occasions that he has played he usually played well. i appreciated the emotion he showed a few weeks ago when he drove the steelers down the field so that they could kick a game-winning field goal. i think charlie batch is a class act. but he is 37 years old and unless i am mistaken he has already announced that he will retire at the end of this season. that would be on sunday. i have to think that the steelers would not have released hoyer if they thought he had any potential. and the steelers seem to be able to evaluate quarterbacks a lot better than our cardinal coaches do. we will see how this plays out. maybe hoyer will be a pleasant surprise. on another topic, i thought daryl washington was our first round pick a few years ago. turns out we got him in the second round. dan williams was our first round pick. i like williams and he seems to play well when he gets the chance. but i have to wonder why williams was taken over washington. we were lucky to get washington and if the patriots had not been willing to trade us their second round pick that year someone else would have drafted him. and who would our inside linebacker be?

@ Dynosoar –

I have to disagree with you on this one….Charlie Batch is as old as the hills and even in his prime was nowhere near as good as Big Ben….not even close. Batch handles the Pittsburgh offense reasonably well because he is a veteran that knows the system and he works at it….He is however very limited and won’t be taking over anybody’s QB job ever. With that said I have no idea whether Hoyer is capable of securing a roster spot as an NFL QB or not. I suppose we’ll see in time.

MANTI TE'O + DARYL WASHINGTON = CHAMPIONSHIP DEFENSE... There is not that many reasons why we shouldn't draft Manti Te'o and skip Luke Joeckel mainly because both Manti and Daryl are tackling machines. Make it known that I do believe we need a quarterback in the draft. E.J. Manuel from Florida State or even Mike Glennon from North Carolina State. Perfect. Do we need offensive tackle this offseason? NOPE!!! No offense to Adam Snyder but Levi Brown could do better and has been there longer.

I agree with D. That Guard from Alabama or Teo (if he's available) would be the best choice. Snyder should not be a starter next year, that's for sure.

This is in answer to those who think Hoyers a Pittsburgh castoff or wonder why they would let him go. Unless he was better than Big-Ben, why would they keep him? Batch has proven as good as Ben and will probably replace him when he's gone. Leftwitch looks to me as a second string QB, not a third string, so where does Hoyer fit in?

Even if Hoyer's a first string caliber QB, do you keep 3 first stringers on the roster?

I don't understand why New England let him go, but for the above reasons I completely understand why pittsburgh let him go, their completely set at QB and it would be hard to be better than Big Ben, equal maybe, but not easily better, so they let him go.
