Hate to say that a Week 1 game is a must win, but….as far as I’m concerned, this game against the Rams IS a must win for this team. Seriously. We don’t know what is to be this year, so let’s go by what the reality was for the Cardinals at the end of the 2012 season – they were BURIED at the bottom of the NFC West and NOT just by the 49ers and Seahawks. The Rams beat the hell out of this team in both meetings last year and it wasn’t just because the Cards imploded with their QB situation. The Rams were a VERY MUCH improved team and that was not a surprise with Jeff Fisher taking over. And they were especially improved on the defensive side of the ball. Kevin Kolb probably STILL has bruises from the first game against them. The Rams probably should have been charged with manslaughter after the beating they put on him that night. Fact is, these are NOT the same sorry-ass Rams we’ve been used to in recent years.

Bruce Arians has insisted that the Cardinals are NOT re-building. OK. Well, if you want us to believe that, then you have to beat the Rams – a much-improved division rival – right out of the box in Week 1. Because if you can’t win that one…how are we to believe that you can hope to compete with world-class teams like Seattle or San Fran?

This game is ABSOLUTELY a must-win for the Cardinals.

And for what it’s worth, can I point out that I was very much in favor of Whiz being relieved of his duties when Fisher was fired by the Titans so WE could have made him OUR next head coach? Water under the bridge but I would have LOVED to have seen Fisher come here.
