Red-on-red back again

Posted by Darren Urban on December 2, 2013 – 11:56 am

It worked out so well the first time, when the Cardinals knocked off the Colts, that the Cards are going back to the red-on-red uniforms for Sunday’s game against the Rams. As was noted after the Colts game by media relations vice president Mark Dalton, the Cardinals are 13-3 overall wearing the red-red uniforms and have won seven in a row. For whatever that is worth.

No word yet on whether Carson Palmer will be keeping his mustache. Or if a black cat will run across the field.

that game had the refs in chip kellys pocket, i understand the whole didnt do enough to win but seriously the worst officiating ive ever seen and ive never blamed the refs before on bad calls because they happen its natural but this game was set up thru all 4 quarters, investigate and theyll find many issues, they need to fine all those zebras, hold them accountable!!! Now, move on and win next 4 in style, 11-5, 6th seed and then dominate in playoffs!!! side note, wish we could do all red or/and black helmets also so itll be total color.

As long as the same official from yesterday isn’t reffing the game, we should beat the Rams. Go Cardinals.

I personally think these are the best looking uniform and beside the record I generally believe in my team! #WhatItTakes

Hey fans, plenty of football left to be played. It’s a stupid cliche, but the one about the fat lady singing…I got to hear her sing first.

Quinn and long are both going to be licking their chops. Our o-line NEEDS to keep pom pom protected.

Anything to keep the luck on ourside.

Its only weird if it doesn’t work.

    We also need red facemasks.

Red on Red looks good and is noticeable for players. Will be another tough game. The Rams are playing for pride, and are a very formidable team. It would make their season, just to ruin ours. We need to have our A game on.

Can we trade the red uniforms for a franchise QB??? How about Larry and the red Uni’s for a franchise QB??

For what its worth, I also didn’t like the officiating but it didn’t cost us the game, the offensive line had it’s first bad game in a long while and Carson Palmer had his first bad game to in his last 5, ya stats were pretty good but he had 4 really bad throws, 2 for TD’s and 2 for first downs plus we did have some drops again. We can still get a wild card and love the red on red.

    @Wayne
Defense gave up 24 points in a little over a half- does that concern you at all? Always blaming the offense but the defense is equally culpable. Palmer threw 3 TD passes playing from behind. Let’s face it the defense is good but nothing more than that.

For all those not wanting to trade Larry- how silly. Sure he’s a very good player at this stage in his career. But take a look around the league at young QBs we will have to compete against for the next 5-10 years. Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, Foles, Newton, Stafford- and the Rams are now the youngest team in the league.
It’s time to make a bold move – or is it the red uniforms no one wants to get rid of?

This ref crap needs to stop because i can hear it being used as an excuse – lets call it what it is – this week and next week and the week after. Ya know the Eagles had a Desean Jackson punt return td called back on a VERY questionable call. As well as a 40 yard Lesean Mccoy run brought back by a questionable call. The Eagles should have been up by much more than they were. The Cards lost the game, not the refs. I hope Arians can focus them – but im worried about his focus too.

    @ panda…
I think that the coaches and the team have accepted responsibility for their mistakes and aren’t saying that it was all on the refs BUT, if you watch football at all, you will see that there has been an inordinate number of grievous errors throughout the league this season and the current system is not working. The entire issue of the refs contribution to the outcome of the Eagles game is mute as their is no way to unring the bell irregardless. When one person has the final say with no recourse there will always be room for speculation about corruption, etc. The Cards are playing some pretty good football according to those in the know (Terry Bradshaw actually chose the Cards to win this game and I’d say he has the creds to back up his observations) and hopefully we can get back on track this week at home against the Rams. Saw some of the footage of their game against the 9ers and I would have to say they are capable of some really bush league dirty play so hope our guys wear their underarmor!
Georgiebird should feel elated that the season is coming to a close and probably two thirds of this team will be gone next year only to start over. Despite her antiFitz feelings (???) the fact is that the Cards have relied on his leadership and stature among his peers and within the NFL,not to mention his performance to get this far so…DEAL WITH IT! It’s refreshing to see that his unselfishness as a player has become a standard within our lockerroom taken up by others, allowing the chemistry and trust necessary to be an ever stronger team unit.

The all-red uniforms are hideous. They look like pajamas. They should be retired permanently.

The classic Cardinals home look with red jerseys, white pants, and the helmet with the bird is the classiest uniform in the NFL.

I will admit, as God awful UGLY as they are, they do look a little better when we win, and if that really helps I will concede my opinion.

Only thing I can figure is that they are so UGLY it throws the other team off their concentration!!!

@georgiebird….i hesitate to write this because it may be taken out of context and may offend people who may deem this to be “politically incorrect”. trust me everyone, i mean no harm. it’s just an observation. i have been part of this blog for several years and there is no denying that you post regularly and adamantly state your opinions. it never occurred to me that you might be a woman. and maybe you are not. but clssylssy refers to you as “her” in a recent post so i presume she (at least i assume she is a she otherwise her blog-name would be something like “dandyladdy” if she were not. or maybe not. i don’t know. i’m 64 years old and the older i get the less i seem to know). and i don’t need to know whether you are a man or a woman and i don’t need clssylssy to confirm my presumption either. it matters not. football fans are both male and female and opinions from either side are equally interesting and reasoned whether i happen to agree with them or not. but still, i have to admit that i was surprised to think, georgiebird, that you might be a woman. it made me think about a conversation i had a month ago with a man from atlanta that my wife and i had dinner with while on a cruise. he is about my age, and is a retired engineer who had his own construction company. one day he called up some company that supplied him with some materials and had a conversation with someone about an order he had made. the next day he showed up and presented himself to the person he had spoken to on the phone. the person was taken aback and was surprised that he was the one who had called her the day before. he asked her why and she replied that she did not think he was a black man. when he told me that story he chuckled a little bit. and i don’t know if his story is true but it’s not an uncommon story, whether it really happened to him or not. this is long-winded and i’m not sure what my point is exactly. but one thing this blog does, is bring football fans together to talk about the cardinals and other teams too and it does not matter what gender you are, what colour you are, what religion you are, what your sexual preferences are, what country you are from, what political party you support (if any), or how much money you have. none of that matters. and that’s nice. so, with some trepidation i am going to submit this non-football related comment and hope for the best.
