Mathieu “appears” to have ACL tear

Posted by Darren Urban on December 8, 2013 – 6:52 pm

More on the homepage in a bit, but the Cardinals have apparently lost rookie safety Tyrann Mathieu with a torn ACL suffered in Sunday’s game against the Rams.

“We’ll wait and see,” coach Bruce Arians said. “I think that’s just the early prognosis of the exam we have right now. He’ll go through the MRI and the rest of the tests and we’ll just keep our fingers crossed.”

Mathieu suffered the injury returning a Rams free kick — a punt — following a safety when John Abraham sacked Rams quarterback Kellen Clemens in the end zone. Mathieu tried to jog off the field but eventually fell.

“I appreciate everyone’s prayers,” Mathieu tweeted. “We go through things in life to test our faith & strength.”

this kid is wise and mature beyond his years. Cards will miss him. on another note, the crowd was not very loud today………..a little laid back.

Man o man we are a dangerous football team. Missing our best offensive lineman and a couple of starting line backers and now Mathieu went down and still managed another interception. I can only imagine what this team will look like next season at 100 percent. Wow!!! Go cards and speedy recovery to the honey badger.

Big loss. No doubt the fan base and the entire team is wishing him a quick and healthy recovery.

I had my ACL reconstructed by one of the two team doctors for the Cardinals a little more than a year back. He is in good hands.

He is young and that is a big factor in his favor. He’ll receive better post op/ physical therapy care than I ever received. He is a rising star, and I’m sure the medical staff will do everything in their power to get him back better than new.

Besides, he isn’t called Honey Badger because he gives up when he sees a problem.

Get healthy and come back stronger than ever, TM32!

So sorry Honey Badger you will be missed as you have played great this year.

Palmer 27-32 someone please smack his elbow every day this week. Wow very impressive. I can live with Carson as our QB next year what about the rest of you?

Fitz 12 catches and 6 catches by our TEs. Very nice. I do not want to see Fitz traded and really look forward to seeing our offense in action rest of this year and especially next year with some OL help. Hope Roberts has a couple of productive games before season is over.

Dansby and Abraham again. Exceptional pickups front office and please please resign them.

49ers win rats rats rats. Carolina losing by 15. Yeah Yeah Yeah go Saints.

Really want to see our guys in the playoffs this year. Know it is a long shot and losing Honey Badger will hurt a lot, but our team is definitely improving and are fun to watch once again.

    Go Cards

Prayers for a speedy recovery, focus on your future, very proud of how you are maturing into a player to be proud of.

While I wish Mathieu the best and hope it turns out not to be a tear, I am still confident that the Cards won’t miss a beat with Rashad Johnson getting more field time. He is the one that got the interception after that second missed field goal which led to a game sealing drive touchdown.

If Palmy wins next week and we end up 9-7 I’d say he should be back next year, but man oh man beat one of those last 2 teams also and He needs an extension the guys playing well it’s finally clicking Warner was like 8-8 first year and they didn’t even let him start every game this guy has gas left and wants to go out with a fight. Get better ™.
