WR coach Drake earns award
Posted by on January 22, 2016 – 8:03 amPro Football Focus decided to hand out awards for position coaches for the first time this season, and the Cardinals had a winner — wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, who shepherded Larry Fitzgerald through his transition to inside receiver and Smokey Brown’s transition to the NFL and Michael Floyd’s evolution to consistent downfield threat.
What PFF had to say about Drake:
Drake may have had a superior set of talent to work with, but he squeezed the best out of every one of his players. All six receivers seeing playing time graded positively this season, and all but one improved over the previous year. And it wasn’t just their receiving prowess that shined—they did a more than competent job blocking for the run, finishing the year as our second-highest graded unit in that regard.
Drake wasn’t the only one mentioned in the article. Harold Goodwin, fresh off his first head coaching interview, was named first runner-up as the top offensive coordinator, behind only Mike Shula of the Carolina Panthers.

Congratulations to a great coach and friend on being named receivers coach of the year. Just don’t seem like it’s been that long when you were a little freshmen at WKU. Lou,Roy and me and a few others took you under our wings and you became a Topper and once a Topper always a Topper. Wes still calls you Uncle Darryl. Best of luck my friend Beat Panthers and Go Toos

Congrats Gentleman Drake and Gentleman Goodwin. Our fantastic team reps well behind the scenes as well as on-field.
Lets hope the Rage happens for a good send-off on Sat. AM… Charlotte Douglas air port may not be open Sat. for incoming craft…we’ll see. The projected weather for Sunday isn’t all bad providing the field is ready…lots of work to be done…already buried in snow. Please…no tiring alternate route with Bus travel…
Cards’ Team, Staff, and Fans that travel….be safe, be well, and bring home the NFC jewelry. This game feels a bit like the Super Bowl…GO CARDINALS…!!

Hey, Eric G gets an A+ for effort.
Championship Game: expect Carson to pick up where he left off in OT. He started slowly, but finished SO strong. Cobwebs, butterflies, all that stuff is gone, expect him to be locked in, getting ball out fast when needed, throwing deep early and often as well. Also, clouds, stars alligned, Urb and Team destined to fly in after the storm into clearing skies, clean and dry. Rise Sunday to chilly crystal sunshine, play on a protected field in crisp football weather (NFL took over field management last weekend I heard). Carolina’s field cant be worse than Philly’s, Bears’ …
Larry’s Legendary Trail to #SB50. #BeRedSeeRed bro, sis…
Jared Allen out, he’s a leader on field, playing his best recently, cannot hurt us…

PS: SB50 plan
Get 4 x 25yrs = 100 tix in Cards Seasonticketholder SB ticket Lottery. If win Halas Trophy, Cards get 20% of available SB tix, per ticket office. Planning on winning that lottery, got hallway pass from momma in hand, so would try to fly PHX SFO am of game, taxi to game 3 hours early, ride red eye home with victory in back pocket. Anybody else got/making plans?
Btw, Carolina lower level 40 yard line tix available for $390…hmmmn…
