Watching Nkemdiche’s pre-draft journey

Posted by Darren Urban on May 3, 2016 – 12:22 pm

For a long time now NFL Films has produced a series called “Hey Rookie,” following players as they get to the NFL. Anquan Boldin was one of the first players featured back in the day. The Cardinals have another player in the mix now that they have drafted Robert Nkemdiche, who was part of this year’s stories (unlike the past, Nkemdiche’s appearance apparently ends with the draft, instead of the post-draft. All four episodes from this spring air tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. Arizona time (10 p.m. EST) on ESPN2.

Of course, if you want to know what happens with Nkemdiche after the draft, there is always the video when he arrived for his press conference and then, starting Friday with rookie minicamp, Nkemdiche will be in Tempe for good working with the rest of the team.

The Seahawks brought in QB prospects VAdams Oregon,
and Boykin from TCU. The QB that is more like
RussWill is from Dartmouth Dalyn Williams.
Card’s should get him in to camp. Mobile and
throws well on the run and the deep ball is
    right on target.

    Let’s Go Cardinals! ! ! ! !

Is Joel Wilkinson practicing with the vets this week, or does he wait til Friday?

Darren: Is it fair to assume that Nkemdiche’s rookie contract will have certain character clauses and provisions (such as Tyranns) before Bidwill signs off on it? As opposed to a standard rookie contract?

    RE: Contract

I don’t know if that will be the case. I think I would be surprised if that were the case.

I agree, no concern with the Kiche off the field.
You will see him in the opposing teams backfield
and in the club on stage Jammin.

JWill the “CB” from down under should help with the
Rugby style tackling BA has talked about.
Maybe try to get him some reps at punter.

Welcome to the class of 2016.

Safe travels to the Red Sea.

JTDG // Darren – – “”Gotta pick somebody, I guess””

I try to always maintain positive opinions for the past few drafts. ((Yeah, BUT)) …Our draft grade for #1 ((Robert)) & #2 ((Chandler)) = B+…good risk//reward moves. If these guys are sterling performers by mid-season, it’s an upgrade to A+ for them.

Now the ((Yeah, But)) C+ – Given, we always need camp bodies to make things work. But, it baffles why we pick 2, maybe 3 men who could have been there well beyond their prospect rating or even in UDFA status…this year…maybe 3…obviously drafting for needs…just in case another team sees them as UDFA.!

Keim’s best work, it seems, has been in FA…done a super job there. If you want to WIN NOW, it is rare that you get several starters in ANY draft unless you are the Titans…etc. Our picks can learn for a bit without having pressure to start in team desperation…because we are so damn good the past few years..!

When has New England ((always picking late)) been desperate in the draft?? Seems Keim & Co. has figured out the formula for GROOMING while still WINNING…

I’m guessing Keim and Arians want Robert focused on the business at hand and not being treated and followed around like a celebrity with NFL Films cameras in his face every waking hour.

I watched the Nkemdiche parts of the episodes. He REALLY wanted the Raiders to pick him.

JWill CB from “down under” retired from 2 leagues by age 25.
Hope for the best to all those who don’t because
only the best 53 will make it. Cards want that Ring !!!!

    Darren,
Will the Cardinals keep 5 CBs on the 53 man roster? If Elie Bouka outperforms Harlan Miller, what would that mean for both of their futures on this team? Bouka is a very fast, big, and talented defensive back

    RE: CBs

We are a long way from determining roster makeup. But could they keep five? Sure.
