Cardinals release three

Posted by Darren Urban on June 1, 2016 – 3:14 pm

The Cardinals trimmed the roster a bit Wednesday, releasing a trio of players: Tackle Edawn Coughman, safety Brandon Person and wide receiver Chris King. Person has been with the team since last offseason, missing the entire year on injured reserve with a knee injury. Coughman was signed Jan. 7 to a “futures” contract, and King was an undrafted rookie signed in May. According to the NFL transactions, both Person and King received injury settlements.

The moves leave the Cardinals with 87 on the roster, giving them three spots to fill. The team is in its final week of OTAs, with the mandatory three-day minicamp coming next week before the team breaks for the summer. Training camp will start in late July.

Three spots to fill…..can we get Freeney on board and reduce that to two spots??

Actually, we now have 27 spots to eliminate, and that includes the practice squad…just looking for a diamond in the rough, and bodies to make the camp work. The MB//SK//BA// trio are good at the obscure search.

Some men have high hopes as usual with those awful cuts to come. Here’s hoping we find a couple men who can ball without issues… Still, the dream and opportunity to play in the best game on the planet is worth the effort.

3 to fill. 27 to eliminate. This math is making my head hurt. I’m gonna get me a 30 pack of Coors light to help me relax. go Cards.

Funny how that math worked out….3 to fill….27 to eliminate….3 plus 27 equals 30….just like the 30 pack of Coors light you may now be working on. How many of THOSE have been “eliminated” at this point? 🙂

    RE: PS

Yes they would be. Most guys are after they changed the rules a couple of years ago.
