Mathieu inactive against Washington

Posted by Darren Urban on December 4, 2016 – 12:57 pm

In what is no surprise, safety Tyrann Mathieu is inactive today because of his bad shoulder. Mathieu missed practice on both Thursday and Friday. The Cardinals do have safety Tyvon Branch back from injured reserve to help make up for the absence. The rest of the inactive list is fairly status quo as of late:

The full inactive list:

— WR Marquis Bundy

— S Tyrann Mathieu (shoulder)

— LB Sio Moore

— G Cole Toner

— DT Olsen Pierre

— DT Robert Nkemdiche

— DT Ed Stinson

    Robert Nkemdiche = Wendell Bryant

I guess jumping out of windows with weed during a party — is a leading indicator you may have a character flaw.

Arians play calling is a joke. My turd has more imagination, so obvious what we are going to do. You think with all the combined years of experience in our coaching staff that we could put together a good plan. I guess experience doesn’t mean much in football, look at Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliot……..oh wait, they look great because of the offensive line. We have a QB who can’t throw a football without being on a spot and our offensive line is weak…….was weak before the injuries.

Somethings never change. Butler 3 punts average of 34 yds / punt. No need for accountability in the punting department yet there is with Nkedmiche.. What f…..n gives. This is not NHL hockey , where a draft pick can get some seasoning in the minors. He is no closer now then he was at the start of the season . START NKEMDICHE NOW ARIANS / KIEM or admit that he was a mistake. Do the kid a favor and let him make a name for himself on another roster.

Irt defiinately seems like every team the Cards play, open the 3rd qtr by marching down the field effortlessly. this is a coaching flaw. the other teams adjust, and Cards do not have a counter punch / different look to fall back upon. they have no new wrinkles in the arsenal to catch a team off-balanced.

BTW, the Redskins are starting to impose their will against the Cards.

The Cards’ O-line is undoubtedly the worst line in the league.

Canadian Redbird, agree 100 percent. This team is not making the playoffs, (though it appears likely that enough games will be won down the stretch to guarantee a not-so-great draft position). Given that, if this organization does not give a ton of playing time to young guys like Boehm and Nkemdiche down the stretch, then some high level changes need to start being made.

3rd and long is so difficult to defend for the Card Defense.

This team does NOT need a little tweaking — it needs a major over-haul

Cue Jim Mora – Playoffs? Don’t talk about playoffs….PLAYOFFS??? You kiddin me?

And anyone believing the playoffs will happen this year is kiddin’ themselves. That ship has sailed.

Unbelievably horrible play calling just before the 2-minute warning in the 4th qtr. The Cards are doing great with short passes and quick running up the middle — so what do we do — throw two deep passes for in-completions.

We literally gift wrapped the game opportunity for Washington to win.

Ok — I’m bad. Defensive holding, then a run then a pass to Nelson — TD.

    Yea!

Called it! Now that it doesn’t matter, the Cards are making the plays they needed to make when it mattered. Cards will end up with about 8 wins this year and not be in a good position to draft the qb that they now must draft for the future. I hate sounding so negative, but the way this organization as a whole is functioning at this time is terribly disappointing

That WAS a nice win today. Been a rough few weeks for me….lost my mom yesterday. So, the win today was good for a smile, and a little SOMETHING to feel good about. It should have NOT have taken until week 12 to beat a team with a winning record, but…..better late than never, and let’s leave it at that.

Hey, they’ve been saying all week that they just needed to win ONE. so…..they got their ONE win. Let’s see if it leads us anywhere.

And CONGRATS to Larry Fitzgerald, who just continues to climb all sorts of lists. You da man, Larry.

Last interception by Patrick Peterson……..WOW! His guy was WIDE OPEN. Busted coverage and he came out smelling like a rose but in reality he could have been a major f-up on his part. Talk about lucky. Dodged one…….seriously, Petersons dude could have jogged into the endzone………..very troubling.

I knew we were capable, just didn’t know if we would. Before the game, I heard an analyst say if we could hold Cousins to under 300 yards we would win the game–I was skeptical, and after we failed to contain DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, I was thinking it was going to be another long game, but we were able to get the job done and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Our 0-line was better in protecting Carson and guys stepped up to help out so he could have time to do what we saw him to last season. Other than the pass to Floyd when Fitz was wide open in the end zone and we had to settle for three, he was making good decisions. Finally BA decided to use our TEs, and hopefully, he now realizes their value. Now if we can just stack another win on top of this one, we have the opportunity to recover a shred of our dignity. Too bad the Honey Badger took himself out of the game (according to Jay Glazer) b/c, our secondary could have really used him and I have a feeling he would have had a very good day. BEST WIN WE’VE HAD ALL YEAR!

    Scott…
Sorry for your loss. I always look forward to your contributions on this board and
consider you a valued member of the Cardinal family. While football can’t compare to the loss of a loved one, hope that our win and Larry’s accomplishment will help lift your spirits in some small way.
Now, let’s stack another win against Miami and keep the hope alive! Winning is a great morale booster, if only temporary.
