It was revealed today that Anquan Boldin hurt his right hamstring yesterday at practice, forcing him to sit out today and likely keeping him out of the Packers game. Coach Ken Whisenhunt wouldn’t rule Boldin out (the injury shouldn’t be serious), but at the same time he talked about Jerheme Urban getting a chance to start (which makes sense if Q and Steve Breaston, who was limited in practice because of his sore knee, don’t play).
Whisenhunt said Boldin, who had an MRI Tuesday night on the area, will be treated carefully. No reason to push it in the preseason. Besides, even though Boldin isn’t thrilled with being hurt, he did say during camp in Flagstaff he’d rather not have to play preseason games. This isn’t the way you want to go about it, but if we’re looking for silver linings ….
