Warner officially among inactives

Posted by Darren Urban on November 29, 2009 – 12:47 pm

As expected, quarterback Kurt Warner (concussion) is being held out of today’s game, meaning Matt Leinart will start and Brian St. Pierre will be the backup. The move ends Warner’s consecutive starts streak at 41 and because of the injury, he isn’t the third quarterback either. I assume that makes Anquan Boldin the emergency QB.

The other inactives include:

  • S Rashad Johnson
  • OL Herman Johnson
  • OL Brandon Keith
  • LB Will Davis (knee)
  • TE Stephen Spach
  • WR Jerheme Urban
  • LB Reggie Walker

Go Matty!!!!! Prove all the bandwagon fake fans wrong! Win or lose, I’m with you, but let’s go running game, let’s go D, let’s give Matt some help here, he’s gonna be rusty.

well lets see what happens,i was hoping that warner would go injured free one more year, just to show that he is a hall of famer, an the cardinals are not a flute, that they are on the rise.cant say im not worried about matts abilitys to get the job done, but i do have faith on the coaching tht will guide him to a victory todays…gooo cards

I find it very difficult to believe that Warner was fine all week and just woke up today with blurry vision which by the way Kurt, after you pass forty, you’ll wake up every day with blurry vision.

Darren, why didn’t Matt get to work more with the first team this week or was it just a smoke screen

cardinals are in trouble they can not win without warner cardinals would have had more points at halftime then 3.

I completely agree with TucsonTim. When the coverage started on Fox today and I saw that Warner was out I almost felt betrayed.

I think it was certainly the right decision to sit him. However, all week everything I read on online and in the paper was that Whiz and the rest of the team thought that Warner was doing fine and thus taking the majority of the snaps at practice. On the other hand Warner sounded unsure in his interviews. In hindsight I get the feeling that Warner was feeling worse than he led on.
I think Matt did a great job today, proving he can run this offense. But just imagine how much better prepared he would have been if they had split snaps this past week.

didn’t get the game on tv in my area but followed the score…was nervous all day but thought we had a win and then came the announcement that the titans had scored on the last play. Glad Kurt sat out so he can be 100% for the vikings and brett.
