All red, the roof and the Niners lose

Posted by Darren Urban on December 6, 2009 – 5:26 pm

Couple quick pre-game tidbits:

— The roof, as expected, is closed.

— The Cards once again are wearing all red, no surprise after they beat Seattle in the all-red getup in the last home game.

— The Seahawks did the Cards a favor by knocking off the 49ers, 20-17, on a field goal on the last play of the game. If the Cards win tonight, they can clinch the NFC West with a victory in San Francisco next week. Even if the Cards lose tonight, they keep a two-game edge at worst going to the Bay Area.

Be Loud in the AZ. Thanks Darren for the uni update, the all reds are the best looking jerseys the cards have without question. Let’s go out and win this game, so against the niners next week, we clinch in their house.

The fact that the Cards didn’t let the 49ers game adversely affect their Sunday night performance against the Vikings speaks volumes about how much the character and integrity of this team’s players has improved just this year.

Given the heartbreaking loss last week and the Hightower fumble to start the game, the team definitely could have folded quickly — they’ve certainly done that in the past — but not tonight.

Games like this, given the adversity the Cardinals faced, are really starting to seal the deal with me that Whiz’s brand of change is definitely, “Change We Can Believe In.” It can be hard not to be skeptical after following this team for 33 years. but games like tonight do a lot to erode it. As long as this team stays disciplined, they have proven that they play with anyone.
