Fitz remains top Pro Bowl WR

Posted by Darren Urban on December 15, 2009 – 2:04 pm

Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald remains the top vote getter among NFL wide receivers in the latest Pro Bowl balloting, again behind three quarterbacks (Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Brett Favre) and a running back (Adrian Peterson).

The fan vote will end in less than a week, after the end of next week’s “Monday Night Football” game. After that, players and coaches vote to determine the other two-thirds of the Pro Bowl equation.

Here’s how the rest of the Cards currently fare in the NFC races (only the top five receiving votes are reported):

  • QB Kurt Warner is fourth, trailing Brees, Favre and Aaron Rodgers;
  • Adrian Wilson is the top strong safety;
  • CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is fourth (behind the Eagles’ Asante Samuel, Green Bay’s Charles Woodson and Minnesota’s Antoine Winfield;
  • Darnell Dockett is fourth among defensive tackles (behind the Vikings’ Kevin Williams and Pat Williams and Washington’s Albert Haynesworth and Darnell clearly isn’t thrilled);
  • Antrel Rolle is third among free safeties (the Saints’ Darren Sharper and the Vikings’ Madeau Williams);
  • Ben Graham has moved to third among punters (the Vikings’ Chris Kluwe and the Giants’ Jeff Feagles).

    I can’t understand why Darnell docket still is behind those fat asteroids products (yeah, the Williams duo). The guys has been a machine, he surely should be on the top on DT.

    I hate to see those fat losers (the Vikings duo) who seem to barely support their enormous tummies… There’s no technique on that, just FAT.

    So how is each group weighted? Is it just 1/3 fans, 1/3 players and 1/3 coaches?

    I’d like to see the Vikings get knocked down a little in their voting, sounds like Washington last year.

    Sorry Darenn,
    I meant the Pro Bowl voting standings to show who is in the lead for each position?

    All come on!!! DRC should be in the top 3 for goodness sake. Winfield is cold and definitely a pro bowl caliber cb but he’s missed the past 6 games. DRC is having a great year at corner. Dockett should be number 1 among DTs. He has 7 sacks and just so dominant. If you don’t double him, he will dominate and that’s a guarantee! The Williams Wall deserve to be in their too but Dockett should definitely be number 1 among DTs and im not a homer, I got stats to back it up. Haynesworth is a monster too but he’s missed a couple games too. DOCKETT!!!!!!! Put the guy in the pro bowl. Antrel has had a real nice 2nd season at free safety, arguably having the best season at free safety not named darren sharper. Ben Graham definitely should make it too. He’s put the opposition in bad field position countless times this year. Put our guys in south florida both in the sb and the pro bowl.
