Graham ties record

Punter Ben Graham, snubbed for the Pro Bowl, just tied the NFL record for punts inside the 20 with his 42nd of the season. San Francisco’s Andy Lee, who was the one who beat Graham for the Pro Bowl, set the record in 2007.

Congratulations, Ben! Fantastic job! I’m sorry you weren’t selected for the Pro Bowl. You deserved it.

How many punts did Andy Lee have in 2007 to set the record? I bet Graham has far fewer this year (since he’s playing for a 10-6 team, and the 2007 Niners team was garbage).

    Kenny —

I don’t have the exact number, but I want to say Lee punted at least 100 times that season.

Congratulations Ben. As a watcher of NFL from Melbourne Australia great to see an Australian in the record books. Keep up the great work.

Did Ben also have a 70Yrd kickoff? or did I read that wrong?

He had a free punt after the safety, but that doesn’t count in punting stats.

For those interested, Andy Lee punted 105 times in 2007; Ben Graham only punted 86 times this year.

Well done Ben Graham – showing that true CATS spirit! All the best for the playoffs, Cards – kick some GB butt!

Anybody see the SI article on punters. They came up with a rating like the QBs have and Graham was 2nd in the NFL this year. Boy did he get screwed over by the pro bowl or what.
