Washington’s commencement

Posted by Darren Urban on May 9, 2010 – 6:43 pm

The definition of commencement is to begin. And there was no question linebacker Daryl Washington commenced his football career at minicamp last week (and the second-round pick will continue in about a week when OTAs start May 18th). That wasn’t Washington’s only commencement of the month, however. Washington received his diploma from Texas Christian University Saturday (I’m not sure what his degree is in), a perfect send-off as he prepares to become a full-time Cardinal. UPDATE: A couple of people, including Sando, mentioned TCU listed Washington as a communications major. I saw that too, although this site had something different so I didn’t want to jump the gun.

The Cardinals wanted a fast, playmaking linebacker to replace Karlos Dansby. Guess they got a smart player too.

I cannot wait to see Daryl in action,.. Im betting he will be starting by week 8 ( at the latest) and he is going to be WAY better of a ILB that Dansby ever was ( dont get me wrong i loved havin dansby but i do not beleave he was as good as his payday made it seam) So my question to you is,… Who do u think will have the biger impact on the 2010 season, Paris Lenon or Daryl Washington?

Too early to say. I need to see if Washington can even pick up the defense before we worry about who starts or makes a bigger impact.

I think D-Wash will have a bigger impact, you cannot teach the speed and quicks that guys has. I’m no Urb, but that’s my opinion.

A possible future pro-bowler? Now add him to a string of decent veteran linebackers, equals…

Darren, is there any more news on Schofield’s injury?
