As I stated earlier this is as close to a must win in week 3 that you can get. Nice to see the Niners struggling! But…..we need to take care of our own business in our own house. Beat the teams that you are supposed to beat, and this is a team we should beat. Play well.

Cards are disappointing and Whisenhunt is irritating.

Whisenhunt has destroyed the talent on this team. Green brought in the talent but couldn’t coach them. Whisenhunt is a good coach but can’t get talent. STOP TELLING US ABOUT YOUR DEPTH!!! The depth is awful and it’s filled with late round reaches and undrafted guys that for some reason have a soft heart for. Players win games, not coaches. Stop thinking you can win with any players, this is the nfl. The cards are not the steelers.

    Boldin had 3 td’s today….. wow

Anderson is awful… Whisenhunt forfeited the season when he let Leinart go. Sure wish we could have seen what Leinart could have done, instead of watching what Whisenhunt’s ego can do.

Leinart had a better game in the Tennessee last year then Anderson will have this whole season.

Leinart wasn’t that bad when Denny was here

No depth or talent on defense either!!! Seems like Bryant McFadden is doing just fine on the Steelers. Linebackers are awful. The Cards have a bunch of guys that nobody else wanted. Robinson, Haggans, Porter, Lenon, Toler, Rhodes. Would those guys even make another NFL team?

Gee,…we just beat the Raiders ONLY because their kicker couldn’t hit from 32 yards out. How utterly un-satisfying. This game may be going in the win column, but what’s the point??? Our lousy defense has now struggled horribly against a rookie QB in his first NFL start and some back-up QB in Oakland whose name I don’t even know. Not to mention that Janikowski shouldn’t even have had a chance to win that game because earlier in that drive, the Raiders had 4th and 10 in their own territory! Sorry, but when you can’t stop the Raiders and their back-up QB on 4th & 10, you’re really no better than the Raiders! This defense stinks, period. It shouldn’t, but it does. For anyone who thought the D was gonna carry this team this year, it’s time to wake up and embrace the horror. I would not have believed that this team would fall as far as it has, but they have fallen and they don’t look like they’re getting up any time soon.

    RE: Raiders victory

The point is you win. (Channeling inner Herman Edwards): “Hello! You PLAY to WIN the game.”

I get that it isn’t making you feel they will win the Super Bowl, but would you rather be in the Niners’ position right now?

What is this tinted face shield whining Wisenhunt has forfeited the season and no talent on defense?Sounds like you should be hanging out in san fran or palm springs to me!I also think you need to get a new face shield/lens to look through! We need a consistant QB,but coach and defense?Ur trippin!Denny Green? You have got to be kidding me!

Tinted Face— What the hell are you talking about. You have to try and stay young a little. I agree that some players brought in (Porter) are past their prime, but i think he brings other things to the locker room where you need vet’s. I do wish Boldin was still with the team, we were much better with him and i think Anderson would have looked better to this point with him. As far as Whiz and coaching, i don’t like the play calling and after today somebody better do something about the penalty’s and Punt return game. That kid need to learn to run up on the ball and catch the damn thing c’mon man

D – I knew DA would have ups and downs and yes Stevie B should have had that pass even though it was behind him and yes there was another to <fitzy that should have been a TD and I know it takes a while to build a rythem (sp) but what worries me the most is the D I really thought that this year they would be special tough aggressive and yes the O has let them down in spots but what do you think why are they getting gashed in the run game which was stout last year and should only be stronger with all the additions is it Ware? we seem to be better when he plays, what do you think? we got lucky today ans we deserve some luck but I am a little worried I think the o will come along as soon as the run game develops and DA gets more reps but what is going on with our D?

    RE: Defense

Part of the problem is that they were on the field the whole final quarter. The offense gained just 12 yards in two possessions.

Urban fans are obviously pissed but coach is smiling and laughing. Does a bad ugly win because the other team sucked more than us really make whis that happy? Or is our fanbase just way off base.

DA SUCKS!!!!! Matt Leinart right handed would have done better.

I think the coach is going to be happy about winning. I don’t blame fans for being frustrated, but it is what it is. Whiz is paid to put a winner on the field. That happened Sunday. You worry about ugly on Monday through Saturday fixing what you can for the next game. Ugly doesn’t matter on Sundays.

Tintedfaceshield…really? I guess you didnt watch Mcfadden at all last year did you? Let alone I guess DRC, Campbell, Washington, breaston, and Wells all stink in your opinion too? Leinart had every opportunity in the world to take the reigns and shine when he had Boldin and Fitz, but did he? Let alone there’s no way any team in the NFL ties up to WR’s with the kind of money Fitz is getting..As far as depth and talent on defense tell me who has a more talented and deeper 3 man front in the NFL? A lot of it comes down to scheming, if Denny Green was so great how come, Atlanta, Balitmore, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Miami, or New York didnt bring him on in the last few seasons. Please go smash your head into a sidewalk….

    Darren –
Yes, I’m frustrated. No, I wouldn’t rather be the 49ers right now but that’s not the point. Well, not my point, anyway. I’m not really enjoying being this negative if that it is how I’m coming across. But let’s face it – we haven’t looked any better than the 49ers have despite the records. They looked far better in their loss to the Saints than the Cardinals have looked in either of their wins!

    RE: Niners v Cards

But see, that’s my point — no one gives a crap the Niners looked better against the Saints. At the end of the season, no one is saying, “Wow, the Cards were so damn lucky to beat the Raiders” or “The NIners looked so good against the Saints, even though they lost” if the Cards at that point are 9-7 and SF is 8-8. The Cards are still in better shape, obviously.

look i think we should try out are running game for a while until DA connects with all our WR if he cant do that then its time for a new QB point blank simple but lets not wait until its too late because we are on top of our division and i like too see it stay that way because seattle is coming up strong ok

Our defense has done a glorious job keeping us in games. Can you list any other teams who are/or can go 2-1 with the defense playing most of the game? Our defense has been on the field over 30 minutes more than our offense has, here’s the stats from the first three games:

    Time of Possession:

    Cards: Opponents:

    27:01 32:51 (@ Rams – Win)
    20:47 39:13 (@ Falcons – Loss)
    27:02 32:58 (vs Raiders – Win)

    Total: (-30:12)

    74:50 105:02

This shows the resolve of our defense to keep going out there and playing hard to put our team in a position to win. Yes, the play has been sloppy on all sides of the ball but the team must start sustaining drives on offense to balance the time of possession game. The Cards will not have a defense come the last few weeks of the season if the team continues to play like this. If the offense can pull it together soon and start balancing out the time of possession game, watch out! Our defense is stout and if we are even or win the time of possession game, other teams just don’t stand a chance against our defense. We need to start winning the time of possession game. Turnovers and penalties need to be shored-up as well. If we win in each of these categories, we win every game we play. As for Haggans, Porter, Lenon, Toler and Rhodes – these guys are play-makers. Greg has done a fantastic job at CB – as I knew he would. I was hoping Whiz would have started him last year, opposite of DRC. McFadden is a good nickel/dime option and I am glad to see him move on and Toler take the reins. He still has some to learn but this kid has just as much talent as DRC. I predict this duo to be one of the elite duos in the future.
