Players say Cards’ field the best

Posted by Darren Urban on February 4, 2011 – 9:34 am

Every two years, the NFL Players Association has their rank-and-file do a survey on the best and worst fields in the NFL. For a second straight time, the field at University of Phoenix Stadium was ranked the best grass surface in the league (and, since grass is usually accepted as a better surface than turf, I think it’s fair to say that means UoP is the best surface in the NFL period. Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy was voted the best artificial turf).

To look at the entire survey and how each team vote broke down on a variety of questions, click here.

Not much doubt in my mind that the Cards would be in LA right now if not for
U o P Stadium. The organization has come a long ways from Sun Devil Stadium.

the grass just seems greener to the other teams because they are winning on it.

Now if we could have a team to call the best, that is all that matters! Heinz Field Sucks too, but Championships are what matters. Good job Groundskeepers!! I WANT A SUPERBOWL!!!

    1st Rd Von Miller or
    2nd Rd Casey Mathews!!

WE need LBS!!!! I know we need a QB, but nothing worth wasting 1st rd Draft pick on unless it is a Trade for a Vet!!

LETS GO PACKERS!! and New DC next Week!!

We need one more good, big, fast LB/rusher, and we need a dominant defensive lineman. Our corners just need some discipline. our Safeties are as good as the best in the NFL. Our Defense went South last year because they were always on the field. We had the lowest number of 1st downs in the NFC last year. Even the Steelers, Jets and Ravens defenses get beat when their offense cannot move the ball.
1rd Von Miller. Casey Mathews is a very average undersized LB, not at all like his brother.
    2nd Rd Dline
3rd and Beanie “I always have a sprained ankle” Wells to anyone for a Winning Vet QB.
4th Rd Fastest WR availible, we cant move if the other team knows our WRs only run 8-9yard routes. Everyone knew that this year.

according to the survey, not only did the Cards win the honor of being the best turf… it wasn’t even close… teams like Houston and Seattle overwhelmingly voted for us (not to mention our own players)

Wasn’t there problems during the BCS game though?
Announcers and players said that Warner Field(just a suggestion) was slippery that night.

you say we need D-line, but we have Dan Williams, Calais Campbell, and Darnell Dockett, and a ton of depth there as well. i see no reason to go D-lineman unless we switch to the 4-3. have you seen Casey Matthews play? the guy plays very similar to how Clay played in college. and have you ever heard of teve Breaston and Andre Roberts? we have speed receivers, we just need a line to block long enough for them to get down field, and a QB to hit them when theyre wide freaking open.

To every cards fan…. We dont need a ton of new faces on D. If you all watched every game last year like myself, you would say we need a QB. And Thats all. No need to draft a high priced LB when our backups are ready to split some time with the vets. Id look for another shutdown CB, a Qb, or a good young OL player in the first. Lb’s we can look at in the 3ed and fourth and still get talent. The biggest deal is who is our DC going to be? really not whos going to play a role. we got porter haggens D wash will davis and a ton of other good LB’s.

I hope the Super Bowl goes into nine over times, the officials call the game because the players can’t even walk anymore, the comish orders an AP and Coaches poll to award the winner, and the NFL joins the BCS because the CBA couldn’t get worked out. Cardinals in the Fiesta Bowl representing the Pac-10 for the National Championship? What do you guys think? Could be fun!

Way to go, stadium! I gotta say, the Cardinals organization really got it right with this building. It instantly gave this team the home-field advantage it never had at Sun Devil.
