Beanie, Hyphen both out; Washington active

Posted by Darren Urban on September 25, 2011 – 11:48 am

Running back Beanie Wells is indeed inactive today for the game against the Seahawks, leaving Chester Taylor and Alfonso Smith  to handle the backfield duties for the Cards. Fellow back LaRod Stephens-Howling (hand) is also inactive. That makes the Cards dangerously thin at running back. A hamstring is always a dangerous thing to risk, and I would guess it is smarter to rest for a game than take the chance of making it worse going forward. You figure a lot more pressure will be put on the passing game.

Linebacker Daryl Washington is active today, however, a boost for the defense, although we will have to see if his play time is limited at all with his calf injury.

The other inactives are:

  • WR Chansi Stuckey (hamstring)
  • QB John Skelton
  • T D’Anthony Batiste
  • TE Jim Dray (pectoral)
  • DE Ronald Talley

Watch out for Alfonso Smith, very good running back from Kentucky, very underrated has alot to prove today against the hawks.

Taylor is a very experienced back and Smith showed promise in the preseason.

No excuses for the running game and Taylor is actually better than Wells in blocking and screens.
Look for end arounds and maybe even Sherman getting a carry.

Here’s your chance Alfonso Smith to start a RB controversy in AZ.

Win or lose todays game, doesnt matter to me and it shouldnt to anybody else, the Cards have showed that they are just as bad if not worse than we were last year, our punter is terrible Feely is missing kicks he usually makes, and our offense is sad. Why is Alfonso Smith getting all the carries? fresh off the practice squad, this is why the Cards are garbage every year. They throw all these practice squad material players into the pen and expect them to show up

we traded DRC for this joke? I hate Kolb. biggest mistake of the Whiz regime. cant wait to see him sit the bench.

Why did we draft Andre Roberts? What a waste.

Wow we suck again for a second year in a row. We just lost to the worst team in the NFL in my opinion. I liked the moves in the off season but this game proved we need to rebuild. I’m not sure if Whiz is really getting things in line and I am happy to have discontinued my season tickets after last year. Cards Suck

Our OT’s suck, especially Levi……………..Andre Roberts sucks. I have more faith in the rookie from San Diego State. Pull the plug on Roberts, he’s bum.

They should fired both Miller and The Wiz, they kept trying to run against that front four when there was nothing there at all, Wasted downs with those nothing backs.

While they are firing people less throw in the head line coach, these guys don’t know what they are doing.

This was a loss that should have never happen in

Maybe they will just be real men and quite their jobs, if i did as poorly as those guys i would not be working for company two minutes.

    Sick, Sick Team

How freaking sad, we give the game away to Washington and then we cant even beat the the lowly Seahawks. The problem is, this team doesn’t know how to dominate anyone. We ease up and play soft & consevative with sad teams we should beat.

I cant wait to hear the same thing by the coaches as every other lost, we made to many mistakes and didnt show up to play, hopefully we will get better at practice, when is something going to happen?

Not one thing positive came from this game, other than fitzgeralds TD, and even then that was a mericle grab and a bad pass from kolb

Its time for a change at QB.This guy is over rated.Give Skelton and Bartel a chance. All that money for nothing. I think our back-ups are better, if we tried 3 QB’s last season why can’t we do it again. And Hall was a joke of a QB.

Even with Beanie and Washington we’ll be lucky to win the next two games – Giants(H) and @Vikings. 1-4 heading into week 7, and it doesn’t look good then or thereafter.

Wow! Another loss for the cards hahahahahahaha….. Kolb is a fluke! Why couldn’t they just trust Warner when he said. DO NOT TRADE FOR Kolb, b/c his 7 game starts hasn’t proven anything!

Well that was an ugly performance…….

Any chance they will be trying out Kickers on Monday???

Arizona gets OUT COACHED, and OUT PLAYED every week, Ken is losing my faith every game, he doesn’t know what he is doing. If the no huddle is working, why stop? Ken always tries to fix stuff that is not broken. Horrible game. Horrible coaching, this is getting UGLIER by the game. Adrian Wilson cannot cover a standing building if his life depended on it. Are we even game planing on special teams or are they just letting PP do whatever he wants? Down playing Beanies injury to try to trick the opponent, seems like they tricked themselves into thinking he was playing. Great Pick up in Chester Taylor! Keep playing good guys! Pathetic.

Well, this sure was an all-around team loss. Maybe the Seahawks weren’t quite as bad as we might have thought going into this game, but…I’m JUST SOOOOO DAMN TIRED of struggling teams using the Cardinals to get out of their ruts. It happened AGAIN today. And what makes me even more frustrated is that you could see this one coming. It just seemed likely that Tavaris Jackson was going to be able to do enough of everything he hasn’t done up until now to win this game. And it’s not because of Tavaris Jackson being a better QB than he’s shown so far or anything else having to do with him. It was simply because he was playing the Cardinals and, well…that is what the Cardinals do. They are the friggin’ Bob Hope of the NFL, I swear.

Already 0-1 in the division. Real nice.

BTW, many thanks to the defense and special teams for their contributions today. Just ONE big play from either may have made the difference in this game. And we got nuthin.

Big red, how was your first beer, good? Settle down Kolb is better then either one of are back ups you drama queen

  26. By AzCardsFanatic on Sep 26, 2011 | Reply

It’s not the Cards who suck… It’s most of these “so called” fans who suck! Expectations from some of you are way too high. There are too many new players, new schemes, young guys and old guys in this team that need a lot more time to develop and build chemistry. Warner didn’t come in on day 1 and give us a spectacular season, it developed over the course of time. Kolb’s getting his chance whether you guys like it or not, he’s got something about him that could lead us to the top the next couple of years. So let the defense, and the offense bind together, bond, and if you can’t handle it, go and get yourself a Dallas jersey and make room for real fans!!! Go Cards!!

f##king fake cardinals fans! go put on your packers or steelers jersey and get out of here. i’ve been following this team for years and i’ve seen worse. it pisses me off to see other teams fans on this website. oh and don’t forget to recycle your packers jersey if they don’t win the super bowl again.

Our fan base…and I use that term VERY LOSELY, are a bunch of insufferable bandwagoners who are a total embarrassment. I like Kolb, have been impressed with his leadership and see this team as a work in progress. I trust Whiz, Horton, and have confidence that change will come and they are far more qualified and knowledgeable that the armchair critics who show up here with their negative and childish remarks. In Seattle, as in Washington, we got to see what REAL fans are like, and what Seattle lacked in confidence or ability was made up for by the passion and support of their fans. Every team has their “rebuilding” years and some teams NEVER win even a Division Title, let alone go to a Superbowl. GO CARDS! YOU CAN BEAT THE GIANTS–WE’VE DONE IT BEFORE!

  29. By suspence716 on Sep 27, 2011 | Reply

We arent fake fans, we are realistic n anyone who has been a cardinal fan for years, like i have, knows that the cards just suck! Seen it for how many seasons? Here we go again on this merry-go-round of bad play, n we just didnt execute bullsh**… If you’re a real cardinals fan then wake up n get mad at this team for being the laughing stock of the NFL once again. U lose to the seahawks n u r a disgrace of a team.

To all of those who claim to be “real” fans and don’t like any criticism –

I’m sorry, but are we to believe that “real” fans accept losing with a smile and lots of good cheer? Please. Get this straight, folks – fan is short for fanatic. “Real” fans are PASSIONATE and are not afraid to question OR find fault with their players, coaches, or front office when their team is not performing well. “Real” fans invest themselves emotionally in their team and truly take home the frustration when their team loses. So, please, leave us REAL fans alone and go sing kumbayuh around a nice warm fire somewhere! Maybe another 5-11 season would be just hunky dory for you folks, but it ain’t alright with me because LOSING IS NOT ALRIGHT TO REAL FANS!!!

And spare me the resumes. I’ve been a fan since 1975 and I’ve been around long enough to feel however I want to feel and to have whatever opinions I want to have. I’m as “real” as it gets and I appreciate the other “real” fans who are NOT OK with what they’re seeing, either.
