Jefferson, Niklas both playing; Romo sits

Posted by Darren Urban on November 2, 2014 – 9:26 am

The Cardinals had two questionable today, and both guys are playing: safety Tony Jefferson (concussion) and tight end Troy Niklas (ankle) are both playing. The only injury-related absence for the Cards is running back Stepfan Taylor, who is out with his bad calf. New running back Kerwynn Williams is active, along with Marion Grice and Robert Hughes as Andre Ellington’s backups.

Still waiting on the Cowboys’ inactive list, but multiple reports have Tony Romo (not unexpectedly) sitting out with his bad back.

UPDATE: Romo is indeed out today. Also out are starting tackle Doug Free and starting guard Ronald Leary. The Cards’ defense needs to take advantage.

The full Cardinals’ inactive list:

— QB Logan Thomas

— RB Stepfan Taylor

— LB Thomas Keiser

— LB Glenn Carson

— DT Alameda Ta’amu

— G Earl Watford

— TE Darren Fells

Hey, is Ta’amu injured or is something behind the scenes going on? last season he was solid and played well in his limited snaps, i was wondering why he isn’t playing anymore

    Ricky —

    RE: Ta’amu

Clearly hasn’t impressed the coaches enough in his comeback. It’s a new year.

will be a big day for the Cards defense, keep the Dallas running game in check and play great coverage…should be a Cardinals WIN today !

Cards have no excuse today, eye of the tiger. BA will expect nothing less.

If I were C-boys, I’d come out throwing first two sets of downs, then try to run it down our throats. But expect heavy run calls from start? Our stout D aided by their 2 OL out, Cards Git er done: Cards 24 Boys 17.

6 minutes into the 1st qtr….had to take a short walk.

Another come from behind effort today? Cards need to take to the AIR today…Ells is being keyed on. We need 400+ yds…can’t get most of that on the ground…

    AIR… AIR… Fitz – Floyd – Brown – Carlson TD! WHY THE H NOT?

Go Cardinals… Spot ’em 10…then kick some ass…

After sleep walking the 1st quarter, for the most part Cards dominated the game. Hughes had a big catch, Fitzgerald is still a wonder to watch. The guy is good.

Defense held Murray to 79-yds. Cowboys rushed for 92-yds. Over-all good game. Impressed with Stinson, Buchanan as rookies. Not enough credit is given to Williams

Another great day for Palmer. When you think of the Kolbs, Andersons Lienerts & Max Halls of the world, its nice going into a game with the thought ” we could win this game “. Cromartie top 5 DB in the league, better get him signed for next year Kiem, could be a lot of suitors.

Never saw our good friend ” Gerry Jones “squirming up in the press box today. Thats worth the price of admission.

    Louis –

Hey, welcome! Thanks so much for your brilliant insights. Wow…I really hope you’ll come back often and elightnen us. But you probably won’t because I’m guessin’ you’re a loser / Cowboys fan. Boy, it sucks when you come up against a team that’s just better, isn’t it?

Hit the road, Jack! Go rub Romo’s back or something.

28-17?!?!? And it really SHOULD have been 28-10!

Thanks, fellas! That’s all I got for tonight. I don’t even want to dissect this one until tomorrow. I’m just gonna sit back and enjoy this one tonight. Hey, here come the highlights again! Gotta go!

One thing, though – MUCH better game from Peterson! You da man, Patrick. Geez, maybe you had amnesia all year and that knock on the head last week brought your memory back! Now that you know who you are again, let’s roll.

Guys — That stupid “louis” comes here every week or so and posts that we are going to lose, no matter whom we are playing. He’s a Seahawk or 49er troll most likely, or the most miserable football fan ever.
