Palmer and his kids, away from football

Posted by Darren Urban on January 19, 2016 – 8:29 am

We take a break from our regularly scheduled football programming to show this cool video of Carson Palmer and his kids. Yes, it’s a commercial. But it’s a cool commercial showing Palmer as a father — which, considering he’s not all that fond of opening that window into his personal life all that often, is impressive to see.

We all see the guy as quarterback, and people have their opinions of him good and bad, depending on the game. Here is another side. It’s worth a couple minutes of your time.

UPDATE: Palmer talked about doing the piece. “It was something I put off for a long time,” Palmer said. “I’m very private, as you guys (in the media) know and talk about a lot. We been so well received in the state, and the fans have been so great and gracious and welcoming, and you realize after a while people want more. People always want more, fans want more, they want to see a different side of you. This was an opportunity with Dove Men Care to do something totally outside the box.

“It was something I pushed off and not wanted any part of for a long time. It was a lot of fun. My wife said she cried the first time she saw it. She is excited to have that to look back on in 2025 when this part of our life is so distant. It’s a great memory for us.”

His confidence – during the coin toss to start the OT of the game on Saturday, Was the most calming an assuring thing heading into OT. The air was sucked out of U of P and then we head to the coin toss. And his demeanor and eyes; after that I knew we were going to win. It was a game changing moment! He was a leader at that moment!
I couldn’t be any more certain that this weeks game is going to be the unleashing of Palmer

    Wow, fine dad.

Looks like 3 (twins + 1) with one in the oven, keeps you grounded. Last week we saw the cautious C. Palmer struggle a bit, then adjust, then win it. Expect him to come out swinging in Charlotte. Jared Allen on sidleines would not bother me either. Riding Larry’s Legendary Trail to #SB50 but great QB helps…

No hurry for Sunday to come, too much momentum, excitement to soak up.

PS: Bidwill did very nice interview on 98.7 his am, he has really turned into a good owner. Gets SB under belt, that’ll put him near top, not just up and coming… Liked his comment about next season’s coming chant at UoP Stadium, “Beat LA”, lol.

PS: Added this video to our twins You Tube watch list we created called “Bible lessons”. Teaching acts of charity to kids, fine daddy…

Not surprised that he’s such a good Dad and all around great guy. I think good character makes for a rock solid QB.

No doubt he will be his usual cool and rock solid self leading the Red Birds to a victory in Carolina.

Standing ovation! In an America I barely recognize from my youth with out of control out of wedlock birth rate, people living together instead of marrying and the destruction of the paternal father figure and American family structure by the PC crowd, this is so nice to see! Way to go Carson and Dove!

How beautiful is that! What a great bunch of guys the Cards have assembled and how generous of them to allow us into their homes from time-to-time to get a glimpse of their other life off the field.
It’s really been a joy and our good fortune to have Carson join our Cardinal family…such a nice guy and such a hard worker!
We absolutely have something VERY special going on here in the valley, our team is family and that is what it takes! Kudos to Michael Bidwill for giving us a football family that has raised the NFL bar for excellence on and off the field!

That was an awesome video. Just a plain old down to earth guy, with great moral character. Clearly he takes being a father as serious, if not more so, than being a professional football player. I love it!
