Chandler Jones lands on the NFLN 100

The NFL Network’s top 100 countdown continued tonight, and another Cardinal made the list, even though his body of work isn’t with the Cardinals. Linebacker Chandler Jones, who had 12.5 sacks last season for the Patriots, was named No. 48 on the list. He’s the second Cardinal thus far; defensive tackle Calais Campbell was No. 71.

Jones figures to have a huge impact on the Cards this season and at least repeat his sack total from a year ago. He was a needed piece to the defense, and here’s one validation in case anyone wasn’t sure.

Meanwhile, the countdown is down to 40 players. Will there be a rash of Cardinals still coming? You figure Larry Fitzgerald, Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu will all be on the list. Will quarterback Carson Palmer?

Carson Palmer will be on the list. Mike Iupati might make it as well.

There is no way Palmer doesn’t make the list, especially considering he was in contention for MVP, albeit from the outside looking in. This will be interesting to see where they fall. Not bad to have 4 players considered to be the best 40 players in the league, great that we got that 5th one in the top 43 for such a cheap price.

Palmer would have to be on the list. The way he played last season and given the fact there are big expectations for this upcoming season. Yeah he had a downer in the NFC Champ game, but that shouldn’t take away from his entire body of work last season.

Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers have comparable stats and both made the list last night. Although Eli is a proven commodity in the playoffs (no knock on Palmer). No doubt Palmer should make this list.

Carson Palmer will ABSOLUTELY be on this list. How can he not be??? He was a legit MVP candidate all year.

Pretty sweet that we are now inside the Top 50 on this list and most of the Cardinals who will be on it have yet to appear.

BTW, this is Jones’ first year on this list. And he debuts at #48?? Not bad, young man! Not bad at all. This kid looks like a BEAST! Looks like he has a great personality, too.

Russel Wilson, meet Chandler Jones. And don’t take this ass-whoopin’ personally. He treats everyone like that.

Now INSIDE the top 40 and many Cardinals have yet to be named. Love that. Fitz was SOOOOOO insanely de-valued at #68 last year, so I am so glad to see him climbing back up to where he belongs. Wonder if anyone on the list this year will have jumped further than him….then again, Jones already went from nowhere to #48, so that would be a 52-point jump! Damn, how great is that???
