Ankle sidelines Nkemdiche in finale

Posted by Darren Urban on January 1, 2017 – 12:57 pm

The ankle injury defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche suffered in practice this week will cost the rookie the last game of the year, as he is inactive for the finale against the Rams in Los Angeles. Other than that, a relatively normal inactive list:

— QB Zac Dysert

— WR Marquis Bundy

— CB Brian Dixon

— DT Olsen Pierre

— T D.J. Humphries (concussion)

— DT Robert Nkemdiche (ankle)

— DT Ed Stinson

I was always impressed with Mike Leach, the retired long snapper. Each year he would log in 10+ tackles per year. Think about it, if the Cards punted 6 times per game, the number of opportunities to make a tackle is about half. (Half the punts are fair caught or was a touch-back, or went out of bounds.) That means Leach had roughly 16 x 3 = 48 chances or less in an entire season. Basically, Leach made a tackle 20 – 25% of the time there was an opportunity for a run back.

Leach made it happen through desire.

Nkemdichie on the other hand … I’m not sure if he racked up 2 tackles this entire season. So far, Nkemdichie has been a waste. Hopefully this off season he finds a little bit of desire, and becomes a relevant player next season.

Unbelievable clock management by Bruce Arians. Up 13-3 with less than 3-minutes; Cards masterfully make a 3 and out in 35-seconds, then followed by a blocked punt. Arrrrrrrrg!

a few days ago i posted, pleaded with BA and SK via a post, to NOT to play DJ..he has over 400 touches and this game means nothing, aboslutely nothing..yet the cardinals wants him to get a record? For what reason? he is the franchise and I said not to play him.. The cardinals , you are stupid! i know its football, but why risk the health of a great player in a meaningless game? All cardinal fans should raise all sorts of hell about this. I am sick to my stomach, if he needs surgery. You could have just ruined this kids career over nothing…

totally agree. Palmer, Fitzgerald, Campbell, Peterson are still playing …. hopefully none of them get needlessly injured this last quarter.

Cards need to have trade talks with the Rams.

    Gurley for Ellington

    Ogletree for Branch

    Austin for J Brown

    Donald for Nkemdiche

I am worried about DJ. Missing 3 games with a concussion. Has he had concussions before in college or high school. Thank you and I know there is no true off season any more but enjoy your slow period before free agency and the draft.

Go Cards great finish and I am praying for good news tomorrow for David Johnson, I know people are saying he looks good, but that play looked nasty to me, and you can easily see he was in great pain.

A few weeks ago some of the players, cheerleaders and Jordan Sparks came to Phoenix Children’s Hospital to the kids that were very ill and battling Cancer. It’s such sadness and heavy heart that on Friday December 30th at 11.56pm our beautiful Angel Leandra passed away and lost her battle. She really like David Johnson .When he spent time with her she had a huge smile and that was the last time we seen her smile. Thank you David for seeing Leandra and giving her one last smile. Thank you from Leandr’s Aunt. Melissa Gano.

So sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine losing a child but it is comforting to know that your little one experienced some joy and happiness while she was fighting her battle. Prayers and condolences for your family and Leandra.
Our Cardinals are extraordinary, and the generosity of their spirit makes up for a disappointing season.
