Urban among inactives

Posted by Darren Urban on November 22, 2009 – 12:33 pm

For those wondering if Early Doucet has surpassed Jerheme Urban on the depth chart, Urban is inactive today for the Rams’ game after not playing a snap last week. TE Stephen Spach is the choice to sit at that position (along with Dominique Byrd) as Anthony Becht stays in the lineup and Ben Patrick returns from injury.

The other inactives:

  • QB Brian St. Pierre
  • S Rashad Johnson
  • LB Chike Okeafor (back)
  • OL Herman Johnson
  • OL Brandon Keith

Inactives, the roof, and red UPDATED

Posted by Darren Urban on November 15, 2009 – 12:51 pm

For anyone wondering, the roof will remain closed today, which really isn’t a huge surprise. The crowd noise is that much more intense when it is closed. The Cardinals have also busted out their all red uniforms for today.

As for the inactives, injuries have taken a bite out of the lineup. LBs Chike Okeafor and Geraldn Hayes (both with back problems) will sit, as will the concussed special teamer Sean Morey. So to will TE Ben Patrick (knee), meaning Stephen Spach will be back in the lineup. Special teams, with Morey out and Ali Highsmith starting on defense for Hayes, will be something to watch.

The other inactives:

  • QB Brian St. Pierre
  • OL Brandon Keith
  • OL Herman Johnson
  • TE Dominique Byrd

Anquan inactive against Bears

Posted by Darren Urban on November 8, 2009 – 9:46 am

The Cardinals have announced their inactives for Sunday’s game and wide receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) is inactive today against the Bears, as is starting linebacker Gerald Hayes (back). It’s a little bit of a surprise Boldin isn’t going, but now we see what Early Doucet can do. Boldin looked OK in practice and when I watched him warm up earlier today (pictured below). The others on the inactive list:

  • QB Brian St. Pierre
  • S Rashad Johnson
  • OL Herman Johnson
  • OL Brandon Keith
  • TE Stephen Spach
  • TE Dominique Byrd

Boldin to play; Early inactive

Posted by Darren Urban on October 25, 2009 – 4:03 pm

It apparently was never much of a question of Anquan Boldin playing (not that I was unsure) with his bad ankle. He never even really tested it out before the game; he just came out for warm-ups like the rest of the receiving corps. Boldin is feeling so good Early Doucet remains inactive. That means a lot for the Cards to have Boldin seemingly at nearly full strength. Boldin told XTRA 910 he was told originally it is a three-to-four week injury and I was told that was true. But that didn’t faze Boldin.

With that scenario, the inactives are:

  • QB Brian St. Pierre
  • S Rashad Johnson
  • LB Reggie Walker
  • OL Herman Johnson
  • OL Brandon Keith
  • TE Dominique Byrd
  • WR Early Doucet
  • TE Stephen Spach (ankle)

McFadden to play

Posted by Darren Urban on October 11, 2009 – 11:44 am

The Cardinals’ inactive list is out and, as I thought when watching CB Bryant McFadden test on his injured ankle, he looks fine. So the inactive list is one of backups and not injuries for the first time this season, although it’s interesting to note that both DLs Kenny Iwebema and Keilen Dykes are sitting today. The others on the inactive list:

  • QB Brian St. Pierre
  • LB Reggie Walker
  • T Herman Johnson
  • G Brandon Keith
  • WR Early Doucet
  • TE Dominique Byrd

Ware, Doucet among inactives

Posted by Darren Urban on September 27, 2009 – 4:03 pm

The Cardinals have announced their inactives for tonight’s game, and there are no surprises. S Matt Ware is still out with the bad shoulder, and given the health of the rest of the receivers, WR Early Doucet won’t play. Also on the list: QB Brian St. Pierre, LB Reggie Walker, T Herman Johnson, G Brandon Keith, TE Dominique Byrd and DE Kenny Iwebema.

No Okeafor for game

Posted by Darren Urban on September 20, 2009 – 8:36 am

The inactive list is out and linebacker Chike Okeafor (shoulder) is out for the game today, meaning Bertrand Berry will take his place in the lineup. Also, somewhat surprisingly, wide receiver Early Doucet is inactive, which tells me the Cards are confident that Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston will be able to make it through the game. The Cards also have Larry Fitzgerald, Jerheme Urban and Sean Morey at receiver too.

Also inactive today are: QB Brian St. Pierre, S Matt Ware, T Herman Johnson, G Brandon Keith, TE Dominique Byrd and DE Kenny Iwebema.

Q in, Breaston out

Posted by Darren Urban on September 13, 2009 – 11:57 am

The inactives are officially out and the Cardinals are going to have Anquan Boldin today, even if he isn’t 100 percent healthy with his bad hamstring. Boldin will be dressed — we’ll see how much he can do — and by itself it will be a sigh of relief for fans. WR Steve Breaston (knee), however, won’t play. It is a surprise to me, given how little Boldin has practiced, but with Breaston not playing, the Cards needed Q even more.

The rest of the inactives: QB Brian St. Pierre, CB Greg Toler, LB Reggie Walker, T Herman Johnson, T Brandon Keith, WR Early Doucet and TE Dominique Byrd.
